\nAdesanya<\/a> partially blames an eye poke for his loss against
\nNassourdine
\nImavov<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Adesanya headlined UFC Saudi Arabia against Imavov in February
\n2025. \u201cThe Last Stylebender\u201d was going toe-to-toe against Imavov
\nbefore abruptly getting finished early in the second round.
\nAdesanya was poked in the eye moments before Imavov landed the
\nfinishing sequence. However, the former middleweight champion
\nbrushed it aside and immediately resumed the action. <\/p>\n

Adesanya recently revealed that his focus was compromised after
\ngetting eye poked. The Nigerian-born Kiwi admits that he should
\nhave taken his allotted to compose himself before continuing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last fight, I got eye poked,\u201d Adesanya told ESPN<\/a>. \u201cI should have taken my time and reset
\nproperly. But I wanted to carry on the work I was doing and not let
\nhim get any time to rest. And focus, it just wavers. No matter what
\nlevel you are, you can never master it. I should have just locked
\nin right there, taken my time, re-centered, reset, and gone back to
\ndoing what I was doing. You live and you learn.\u201d <\/p>\n

The loss against Imavov was Adesanya\u2019s third consecutive loss.
\nAdesanya (24-5) is now scheduled to fight Joe Pyfer<\/a>
\n(15-3) at
\nUFC Seattle<\/a> on March 28 at the Climate Pledge Arena. Meanwhile,
\nPyfer is 6-1 in the
\nUFC<\/a> and riding a three-fight winning streak going into the
\ntoughest test of his career to date. <\/p>\n
