\nDana White’s Contender Series<\/a> winner Levi
\nRodrigues<\/a> will have to wait to make his Octagon debut.<\/p>\n

Rodrigues was suspended nine months by the Nevada State Athletic
\nCommission on Wednesday after testing positive for metabolite of
\nnandrolone, which is a banned anabolic steroid. He was also fined
\n$1,000.60. Rodrigues will be eligible to return on July 14.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old Brazilian earned a UFC contract<\/a> thanks to a first-round
\nstoppage of Freddy
\nVidal<\/a> on the Contender Series on Oct. 14. Rodrigues\u2019 drug test
\nwas flagged after the bout. He had not been booked for a
\nUFC<\/a> debut prior to the NSAC\u2019s sanctions. It\u2019s currently unclear
\nif Rodrigues will remain on the UFC roster.<\/p>\n

Injury Recovery?<\/h2>\n

As a result of the failed drug test, Rodrigues\u2019 victory against
\nVidal has been overturned to a no contest. Rodrigues\u2019 management
\nrevealed to MMAjunkie.com<\/a> that the fighter used nandrolone
\nto treat a back injury from May 2024 to July 2024, but his use of
\nthe substance ended a little more than a year before his appearance
\non the Contender Series.<\/p>\n
