\n\u201cCris Cyborg\u201d Justino<\/a> hourglass.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian icon will square off with Paulina Cardona for the
\nvacant Women\u2019s International Boxing Association super welterweight
\nchampionship this Saturday in Curitiba, Brazil. Cyborg enters the
\nring with a perfect 7-0 record as a pro boxer, having stopped five
\nopponents by knockout. Only Cardona stands between the decorated
\nmixed martial artist and her first boxing title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis belt will be special if I win it, God willing,\u201d Cyborg told
\nSherdog.com. \u201cIt\u2019s the belt that Laila Ali, Holly Holm<\/a>
\nand Amanda
\nSerrano<\/a> have held. They are legends of the sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyborg, who turns 41 in July, has entered a period of reflection as
\nshe closes in on the end of her combat sports race. More than two
\ndecades have passed since she made her MMA debut.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis whole time, I\u2019ve always been at the top, or very near the
\ntop,\u201d Cyborg said. \u201cI feel a lot of gratitude. I never stopped
\ntraining and never underestimated anyone. I never needed to put
\nsomeone else down to show who I am. I always gave my best. I\u2019m
\nalways dedicated to training, always believing, always improving. I
\nbelieve that I\u2019m fighting much better today, with more technique.
\nMy game is much improved. I\u2019m more patient and plan better for my
\nfights. I believe that everyone goes through this process in their
\ncareer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy, although my dream wasn\u2019t to be a fighter,\u201d she added.
\n\u201cI played handball. I wanted to live in Europe and play handball,
\nbut God had another purpose in my life. I started fighting when I
\nwas 19. Nowadays, starting at 19 is late, but since the sport was
\njust starting out, I managed to do it. To still be active when the
\nsport is at its peak, I\u2019m very grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyborg has one fight left on her
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> contract. She last suited up for
\nthe company at PFL Champions Series 4, where she laid claim to the
\ninaugural women\u2019s featherweight title with a third-round rear-naked
\nchoke submission of the previously unbeaten Sara
\nCollins<\/a> on Dec. 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that this will be my last year,\u201d Cyborg said. \u201cOf
\ncourse, I would love for our weight class to continue. Women
\nfrequently have a difficult time making weight, so it makes sense
\nto have multiple weight classes. I wouldn\u2019t agree that there aren\u2019t
\nenough women [at 145 pounds]. There are several women fighting. The
\nsport keeps growing. MMA should be like boxing, with several
\ncategories for both men and women. They\u2019re not that different. I
\ndon\u2019t have a say as to how promotions are run, but I believe that
\nwomen\u2019s categories will continue to grow and that the opportunities
\nwill be there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nInvicta Fighting Championships<\/a> and
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> titleholder, Cyborg will
\neventually exit the sport as one of its most accomplished figures,
\nmale or female. She has a transition plan in place for whenever she
\ndecides to hang up the gloves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have several projects,\u201d Cyborg said. \u201cAfter I stop fighting, I
\nwant to follow my career. I want to be a veterinarian while still
\nparticipating in the MMA world, helping athletes and putting on
\nseminars. Since 2016, I\u2019ve been in the Bitcoin world. I\u2019ll be in
\nLas Vegas soon as a speaker at the Bitcoin conference.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyborg offers words of wisdom for all who hope to follow in her
\nfootsteps.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that number one is to keep your humility, even if you
\nare champion,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen you are a champion, you will have a
\ntarget on your back. Everyone will want to beat you. Some people
\nwill vanish when you\u2019re not winning, so it\u2019s good to be with those
\nwho have been loyal since the start. You have to learn, evolve, be
\nhumble and put God first, and without a doubt, good things will
