\nVolkanovski<\/a>\u2019s coach, Joe Lopez, doesn\u2019t consider Jean Silva<\/a>
\ndeserving of a title shot yet. <\/p>\n

Volkanovski (28-4) has long been calling Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> (20-0) the most deserving featherweight title contender.
\nEvloev further cemented his position by handing Lerone
\nMurphy<\/a> his first career loss at
\nUFC London<\/a> earlier this month. Evloev followed it up by calling
\nout Volkanovski, who verbally accepted without
\nhesitation. <\/p>\n

However, Silva (17-3), who was in attendance at UFC London, is
\njostling for the next title shot against Volkanovski. Known for his
\nknockout power, Silva deemed Evloev\u2019s majority decision win over
\nMurphy boring. While \u201cLord\u201d is trying his best to provoke
\nVolkanovski to fight him, the champion doesn\u2019t think he deserves
\nthe next title shot over Evloev. Volkanovski\u2019s coach, Lopez,
\nrecently reiterated his fighter\u2019s thoughts. Lopez took a dig at
\nSilva\u2019s signature celebration of barking like a dog. Lopez says
\nthat barking, or making noise in general, won\u2019t earn Silva a title
\nshot.<\/p>\n

\u201cJean
\nSilva<\/a> or whatever his name is, barking like the little dog that
\nhe is in the background, trying to make a lot of noise to make
\nhimself think he\u2019s the next one,\u201d Lopez told Submission Radio<\/a>. \u201cBut he\u2019s not deserving.
\nThere are still Aljo and guys above him. He\u2019s got to earn his spot.
\nDon\u2019t think that because you make a lot of noise, you\u2019re going to
\nget it, because you\u2019re not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nothing on the Ground<\/h2>\n

Lopez further recalls Silva\u2019s only UFC loss, where he seemed out of
\nhis depth on the ground against Diego
\nLopes<\/a>. Lopez believes Volkanovski will \u201cmaul\u201d Silva on the
\nground if they fight. While Lopez acknowledges Silva\u2019s power, he
\nthinks \u201cLord\u201d is reckless with his hands.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you see what Diego did to him on the ground,\u201d Lopez said. \u201cHe\u2019s
\nlooking at his corner; this guy is nothing on the ground, just
\nplayed with him. For somebody who says he\u2019s got a high-level ground
\ngame, he hasn\u2019t got a high-level ground game. I know if Alex got on
\ntop of him, he\u2019d maul him. He\u2019s a powerful striker; if he catches
\nyou, he\u2019ll catch you. But he is very careless in his
\nstriking.\u201d <\/p>\n

Evloev is currently on the second-longest active winning streak on
\nthe
\nUFC<\/a> roster with 10 straight wins. Meanwhile, Silva is 6-1 in
\nthe UFC with five finishes. <\/p>\n
