\nUFC<\/a> career is currently at a crossroads. <\/p>\n

While Covington (17-5) hasn\u2019t fought in the UFC since December
\n2024, he has been active in wrestling competitions under the Real
\nAmerican Freestyle banner. \u201cChaos\u201d defeated Dillon
\nDanis<\/a> in the co-main event at RAF 7 on Saturday. Covington was
\nsubsequently asked if he would continue being active in RAF or
\nconsider a UFC return soon. The former UFC interim welterweight
\nchampion confirmed that he will be committed to RAF going forward,
\nclaiming to have invested his own money in the wrestling promotion.
\nCovington wants to build the RAF in the greatest combat sports
\nleague in the world. Covington also says that he has done
\neverything he needed to do in the UFC, reiterating his recent
\nfalling out with the promotion.<\/p>\n

Back to His Roots<\/h2>\n

\u201cI\u2019m all in on Real American Freestyle,\u201d Covington told Red Corner
\nMMA. \u201cI\u2019ve invested my own hard-earned money to Real American
\nFreestyle. I want to see this platform grow into the greatest
\ncombat sports league in the world. So I\u2019m all in on Real American
\nFreestyle. My first passion was wrestling. So I\u2019m gonna get back to
\nmy roots. I did everything I needed to do in the UFC. I won a world
\nchampionship. So I\u2019m all in on RAF and you can see me very active
\nhere.\u201d <\/p>\n

Covington hasn\u2019t competed in the UFC since suffering a stoppage
\nloss against Joaquin
\nBuckley<\/a> in December 2024. While Covington is a self-proclaimed
\nsupporter of President Donald Trump, he failed to secure a spot on
\nthe upcoming
\nUFC White House<\/a> card despite his best efforts. Covington has
\nsince admitted that his relationship with the UFC has soured,
\naccusing executive Hunter Campbell of making false promises about
\nbooking him a fight. <\/p>\n
