The<br \/>\nMexican standout crumpled Barber with a left hand and tagged her<br \/>\nwith a quick follow-up shot before swiftly securing a rear-naked<br \/>\nchoke on her fallen adversary. The submission was hardly necessary<br \/>\n\u2014 Barber was already unconscious \u2014 but it only added to the overall<br \/>\nvisual of the moment.<\/p>\n<p>While Grasso will likely end up on many year-end awards list for<br \/>\nher finish, simply getting the victory was key after dropping<br \/>\nback-to-back fights against <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Natalia-Silva-193033\">Natalia<br \/>\nSilva<\/a> and <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Valentina-Shevchenko-45384\">Valentina<br \/>\nShevchenko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Of course it&#8217;s always hard to have two losses in a row. I&#8217;ve never<br \/>\nexperienced that before,\u201d Grasso said. \u201cBut injuries are part of<br \/>\nthe journey. But healthy Alexa is very different than Alexa with<br \/>\ninjuries. I&#8217;m super happy that all my injuries healed and I&#8217;m<br \/>\nbetter. I&#8217;m back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I trained so well this fight camp. It was very, very tough. It was<br \/>\nvery hard. I wanted to get the finish. Of course my jiu-jitsu game<br \/>\nwas the first point I wanted. I wanted to finish her, but of course<br \/>\nmy boxing is always there and I&#8217;m super glad it worked.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Bullet\u2019 with a Name on It<\/h2>\n<p>Grasso scored one of the biggest upsets in recent memory when she<br \/>\nsubmitted <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Valentina-Shevchenko-45384\">Valentina<br \/>\nShevchenko<\/a> to capture the flyweight crown at UFC 285 in March<br \/>\n2023. The overall series with Shevchenko, the reigning 125-pound<br \/>\nqueen, currently sits at 1-1-1 \u2014 so Grasso has reasonable case for<br \/>\na fourth bout with her rival. She admits that is the ultimate goal,<br \/>\nthough she also knows it might take a little more work to get<br \/>\nthere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That would mean the world to me,&#8221; Grasso said. &#8220;Dream come true.<br \/>\nOf course. I don&#8217;t know how many fights I need to be a contender<br \/>\nagain, so I&#8217;ll do my job and continuing training.
