If in the first 20 years of the
\nUFC<\/a> Brazil and the United States alternated in the position of
\ngreatest MMA powerhouse, from 2025 onwards Russia and countries
\nfrom the former Soviet Union have changed this picture.<\/p>\n

Even with a much smaller percentage of representatives on the
\nroster, these fighters today hold five of the 11 UFC belts:
\nPetr
\nYan<\/a> (Russia), bantamweight; Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> (Georgia), lightweight; Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> (Dagestan), welterweight; Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a> (Chechnya), middleweight and Valentina
\nShevchenko<\/a> (Kygistan), flyweight). Meanwhile, today Brazil has
\none belt (Alex
\nPereira<\/a>) and the United States two (Mackenzie
\nDern<\/a> and Kayla
\nHarrison<\/a>).<\/p>\n

In the opinion of
\nAmerican Top Team<\/a> head coach Conan Silveira, the trend is that
\nthis Russian dominance will expand in 2026 with Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> winning the featherweight belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cJean [Silva] can do whatever he wants, but he won\u2019t get ahead of
\nEvloev,\u201d the Brazilian coach told Sherdog.com.<\/p>\n

Silveira believes Evloev brings the complete package to defeat
\nreigning champion Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see him train every day at the gym. It\u2019s the complete MMA
\npackage. Volkanovski won\u2019t be able to stop him,\u201d Silveira said.<\/p>\n

Silveira predicts that Evloev will have the most dominant reign
\namong the current champions from that part of the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s only 32 years old and undefeated (20-0), being in a clear
\nprocess of physical and technical evolution,\u201d Silveira said. \u201cI
\nthink that after winning the belt he will remain dominant and
\nactive for a long time. I see champions like Chimaev and Islam
\nclearly in a process of slowing down. Movsar is only at the
\nbeginning of his trajectory.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recovery Forecasts<\/h2>\n

Regarding his two champions who are currently sidelined, Harrison
\nand Alexandre
\nPantoja<\/a>, Conan believes that both will be back between July and
\nSeptember.<\/p>\n

“It’s impossible to be precise,\u201d he said. \u201cTheir case depends on
\nthe doctors’ feedback. For us, the most important thing is that
\nthey are fully recovered and healthy. Pantoja is already slowly
\nreturning to training and I think that, at the latest, between
\nAugust and September he will be fighting for his belt. I believe
