Stirling took on Bruno Lopes<\/a>
\n(14-3) in a light heavyweight tilt at
\nUFC Seattle<\/a> on Saturday. The Kiwi punished Lopes on the feet
\nand left him a bloodied mess to earn a technical knockout win in
\nthe second round. Stirling subsequently called out light
\nheavyweight veteran Cutelaba. Stirling notes that the Moldovan is
\nknown for derailing the hype trains of several prospects. With both
\nof them on the cusp of breaking into the rankings, Stirling feels
\nit\u2019s the perfect time to fight Cutelaba.<\/p>\n

\u2028 I feel like [Ion] Cutelaba is a big name,\u201d Stirling said in a
\npost-fight interview with the UFC. \u201cHe\u2019s been in the UFC for a long
\ntime. He\u2019s been killing all the prospects that are being put
\nforward to him. And I think that\u2019s our meeting point. That\u2019s where
\nhe\u2019s at, and that\u2019s where I\u2019m at. He seems like the perfect guy to
\nfight. He\u2019s at the top outside of the top 15, and so am I. So,
\nlet\u2019s get it.<\/p>\n

Stirling (9-0) had finished all of his fights, including his
\n
\nDana White’s Contender Series<\/a> bout, before his
\nUFC<\/a> debut in 2024. Stirling\u2019s win over Lopes was his first
\nstoppage in four straight UFC wins. The 28-year-old is now riding
\nthe third-longest winning streak among active UFC light
\nheavyweights. Meanwhile, Cutelaba (20-11) is coming off an upset
\nsubmission win over highly-touted prospect Oumar Sy<\/a>. \u201cThe
\nHulk\u201d has been in the UFC for nearly a decade and has essentially
\nassumed the role of a gatekeeper with a 9-10 record.<\/p>\n
