Yousri
\nBelgaroui<\/a> had already experienced every threat possible in his
\ntraining camp for
\nUFC Seattle<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Belgaroui (10-3) faced a previously undefeated Mansur
\nAbdul-Malik<\/a> (9-1-1) in a middleweight matchup at UFC Seattle.
\nBelgaroui battered Abdul-Malik\u2019s lead leg from the onset, while
\nmaintaining his distance with a clean jab. Even when Abdul-Malik
\nmanaged to take Belgaroui down, the 6\u20195\u201d former kickboxer got back
\nto his feet in seconds. While Belgaroui nearly finished Abdul-Malik
\nin the second round, he was saved by the bell. Belgaroui maintained
\ncomposure and gradually broke Abdul-Malik down to get a stoppage in
\nthe third round. <\/p>\n

While this was only Belgaroui\u2019s second
\nUFC<\/a> fight, \u201cBaby Faced Assassin\u201d has a ton of experience
\ncompeting in Glory Kickboxing. However, Belgaroui believes
\nAbdul-Malik didn\u2019t lose to him due to a lack of experience.
\nBelgaroui credits his training camp for handing Abdul-Malik his
\nfirst career loss. The Turkish-Dutch prospect reveals that he put
\nhimself in every possible threatening position during his training
\ncamp, even coming back from nearly getting choked out in
\nsubmissions.<\/p>\n

Train Hard, Fight Easy<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt has nothing to do with his experience,\u201d Belgaroui said in a
\npost-fight interview with the UFC. \u201cI think he\u2019s very well-rounded.
\nIt\u2019s more like what I have been doing in camp. I put myself in the
\nmost difficult places out there. I put myself against the fence, I
\nput myself on the ground, put myself in half-submissions, where
\nit\u2019s almost time to stop. And then fight out of there, fight the
\nguy there, and make him pay. So that\u2019s what I could do naturally
\nout there right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Belgaroui came up short in his first Contender Series opportunity
\nin 2023. Belgaroui then rebounded with two wins on the regional
\ncircuit to earn another Contender Series shot, where he scored a
\nknockout in 2024. The 33-year-old has since picked up back-to-back
\nknockout wins in the UFC. <\/p>\n
