\nCosta<\/a>\u2019s latest win wasn\u2019t by a fluke shot. <\/p>\n

Costa took on Stewart
\nNicoll<\/a> in a flyweight clash at
\nUFC Fight Night 272<\/a> in Las Vegas. \u201cNono\u201d invested in Nicoll\u2019s
\nbody throughout the fight, chipping away at the sides. Costa
\nfinally loaded up and landed a crushing shot to Nicoll\u2019s liver,
\nfolding him with seconds left in the second round.  Costa
\nrevealed that he practices the fight-ending liver shot every day in
\ntraining. The 30-year-old also couldn\u2019t help a little \u201cI told you
\nso\u201d call to his coach in Brazil. Costa was looking to maintain the
\ndistance against Nicoll, who was trying to crowd him. Costa planned
\nto patiently wait for the perfect shot, which paid off.<\/p>\n

\u201cI train that every day,\u201d Nicoll said in a post-fight interview
\nwith the UFC. \u201cI just called my coach and I told him, \u2018I told you
\nremember.\u2019 I train that every day, so it\u2019s like my shot now\u2026 I was
\nlooking for some space. He was very tough in that fight. My plan
\nwas to be a little bit patient, try to look for the perfect
\ntiming.\u201d <\/p>\n

Costa (15-5) is now 3-3 in the
\nUFC<\/a>since his debut in 2022, only going to the scorecards once
\nin a loss against Steve
\nErceg<\/a>. While he has mostly fought once a year in the UFC so
\nfar, Costa plans to have a couple of more outings before the end of
\nthis year. Meanwhile, Australia\u2019s Nicoll (8-3) is in a precarious
\nposition, having lost all three of his UFC bouts so far. <\/p>\n
