Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a> (15-0) recently said that he does not put too much
\nthought into his legacy.<\/p>\n

The UFC middleweight champion believes legacy will find its own
\ncourse if it has too. Chimaev enjoys traveling to fight and the
\npaycheck that follows.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo legacy,\u201d Chimaev said on the “Beyond the Win\u201d podcast.<\/a> podcast. \u201cI never
\nthink too much about the legacy. Legacy gonna come by itself. I
\nenjoy my job. I like to train, I like to fly to other countries,
\nbeat somebody up, take the money and come back.\u201d <\/p>\n

A Growing Trend?<\/h2>\n

Chimaev is not the first fighter to prioritize money over legacy.
\nThe legendary Khabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a> had always emphasized<\/a> that he fought for his legacy, not money.
\nHowever, things have since changed in the MMA world. Former
\n
\nUFC<\/a> heavyweight champion Francis
\nNgannou<\/a> fought only once in MMA after leaving the UFC, despite
\nsecuring a lucrative contract with the PFL. When asked if he
\njeopardized his legacy by leaving the UFC, Ngannou said that legacy
\nwon\u2019t put food on the table. <\/p>\n

Chimaev dominantly won the middleweight title against Dricus Du
\nPlessis<\/a> at
\nUFC 319<\/a> last year. \u201cBorz\u201d is now scheduled to defend his title
\nagainst Sean
\nStrickland<\/a> (30-7) at UFC 328<\/a>
\non May 9 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. <\/p>\n
