\nMakhachev<\/a> recently doubled down on his accusations against
\nIlia
\nTopuria<\/a>. <\/p>\n

A fight between Makhachev (28-1) and Topuria (17-0) is arguably the
\nmost anticipated booking by MMA fans right now. With the buildup
\ngoing on for over a year, the fight was reportedly being targeted
\nto be the main event for the
\nUFC White House<\/a> card in June. However, Topuria is now scheduled
\nto defend his lightweight title against interim champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> at the White House. <\/p>\n

Topuria has since claimed that he originally accepted an offer to
\nfight Makhachev at the White House. However, Topuria was allegedly
\ninformed that he would fight Gaethje a day before the card was
\nofficially announced by the
\nUFC<\/a>. Topuria recently reiterated his comments at a press
\nconference in Spain. <\/p>\n

Makhachev has now responded to Topuria, accusing the undefeated
\nGeorgian-Spaniard of turning down a fight offer. Makhachev claims
\nhe accepted an offer to fight Topuria at the White House. However,
\nTopuria allegedly backed out after the UFC refused to meet his
\ndemand of an unrealistic purse. Makhachev further noted that
\nTopuria\u2019s manager Malki Kawa has also admitted that the UFC didn\u2019t
\nmeet their financial demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m tired of hearing made-up stories from Topuria and his team,\u201d
\nMakhachev wrote on X. \u201cI got the call and accepted the fight at the
\nWhite House. The next day, I was told he asked for an unrealistic
\npurse. The UFC declined, and he pulled out. That\u2019s it nothing more
\nto it. Even his manager confirmed it. Ilia, stop talking. Every
\ninterview you give tells a different story. You pulled out, and you
\nknow it.\u201d<\/p>\n
