Santiago
\nPonzinibbio<\/a> never enjoyed the company of Colby
\nCovington<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Ponzinibbio recently called out Covington for a
\nUFC<\/a> fight. \u201cThe Argentine Dagger\u201d slammed Covington for calling
\nfor matchups that are implausible. Ponzinibbio has previously
\ntrained with Covington at
\nAmerican Top Team<\/a> in Coconut Creek, Florida. Ponzinibbio doubts
\nCovington will accept his callout considering their experience
\ntraining together.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne fight that I would like without a doubt is against Colby
\nCovington<\/a>,\u201d Ponzinibbio told Hablemos MMA<\/a> A. \u201c\u2026 He is always asking for
\nfights that he knows aren\u2019t gonna happen. We had the opportunity to
\ntrain together here, at American Top Team. But truth is, he knows
\nthat it may not be an easy fight for him. And that\u2019s why he doesn\u2019t
\nwant to accept it. But it would be a great fight for me without a
\ndoubt.\u201d <\/p>\n

Covington left ATT in 2020 over growing feuds with multiple
\nteammates. Ponzinibbio claims Covington was always selfish,
\ncompetitive, and never a team player.<\/p>\n

\u2018I Never Liked Him\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cI never liked him,\u201d Ponzinibbio said. \u201cWhen he trained with me, he
\nspent his time there talking nonsense\u2026 He didn\u2019t get along with
\nmany people. He was a very competitive person. He wasn\u2019t a
\nteammate. Selfish guy, he had everything to him\u2026 He had problems
\nwith several coaches.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ponzinibbio (30-9) has dropped three of his last four outings, and
\ncomes off a stoppage loss against Daniel
\nRodriguez<\/a> from last year. Meanwhile, Covington (17-5) hasn\u2019t
\ncompeted in the UFC since a stoppage loss against Joaquin
\nBuckley<\/a> in December 2024. However, \u201cChaos\u201d is now actively
\ncompeting in wrestling at Real American Freestyle. <\/p>\n
