\nNdebele<\/a> shined in his first fight since winning the tournament,
\nbeating Italy\u2019s Michele
\nClemente<\/a> by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).<\/p>\n

The hometown hero Nedbele (12-3, 4-0 PFL) headlined Friday\u2019s
\n
\nPFL Africa season opener<\/a> at the Sunbet Arena in Pretoria, South
\nAfrica, and he left his countrymen signing with joy. Ndebele was
\ntoo well-rounded for Clemente (7-2, 0-1 PFL). He outstruck the PFL
\ndebutant throughout the first two rounds before dominating his foe
\nfrom side control throughout the third. Ndebele has emerged as the
\nface of PFL Africa after a string of impressive performances and
\nalthough he won\u2019t be competing in the bantamweight tournament this
\nseason, fans were still excited to see the young prospect take the
\nnext step in his career.<\/p>\n

Justin
\nClarke<\/a> was a dead man. As the giant Senegalese heavyweight
\nAbdoulaye
\nKane<\/a> beat him down all along the cage, a cataclysmic knockout
\nseemed inevitable. And it was. Clarke went for broke and landed a
\nHail Mary left hook into Kane\u2019s jaw just as he was pressing for his
\nown knockout. Kane dropped to the canvas in shock at how fast
\nthings got out of hand. Kane (5-2, 2-2 PFL) was officially stopped
\nat the 2:12 mark of the first round, but the crowd couldn\u2019t stop
\ncheering for
\none of the most unforgettable comebacks in PFL
\nhistory<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Peace
\nNguphane<\/a> picked up a fifth straight win and a victory in his
\nPFL debut after outgrinding Yabna
\nN’Tchala<\/a> en route to a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28,
\n29-28). N\u2019Tchala (14-3-1, 3-1  PFL) was considered to be a
\nfavorite in the welterweight tournament and took a slim lead after
\na slow first round. Nguphane (9-3, 1-0 PFL) dug deep and pinned his
\ngame plan on the grappling skills and kept N\u2019Tchala on his back,
\nwearing him down with consistent ground-and-pound.<\/p>\n

Shido
\nBoris Esperanca<\/a> made a statement with a first-round stoppage
\n(3:17) over Emilios
\nDassi<\/a> to advance in the welterweight tournament. Esperanca
\n(11-2, 4-1 PFL) put his experience to good use by dumping Dassi on
\nthe canvas early with a sneaky trip. After settling into full
\nguard, Esperanca wasted little time clearing his way for full
\nmount. With Dassi (5-3, 1-2 PFL) at his mercy,
\nEsperanca dropped elbows with bad intentions<\/a><\/strong> until
\nreferee Rich
\nMitchell<\/a> was forced to pull him off.<\/p>\n

Rivaldo
\nPereira<\/a> brought the crowd to its feet with a devastating
\nfirst-round TKO (2:09) of Kunle Lawal<\/a>
\nin welterweight action. Pereira (4-2, 1-0 PFL) steadily timed the
\ndarting Lawal and caught him blitzing in with a right cross that
\nhad the Nigerian stumbling. As Lawal (3-2, 1-1 PFL) tried to clear
\nhis head,
\nPereira put him down for good<\/a><\/strong> with a gut-wrenching
\nright hand to the solar plexus.<\/p>\n

In a battle of Nigerian strawweights, Juliet Ukah<\/a>
\nproved to be too sharp on the feet for fellow countrywoman Jane
\nOsigwe<\/a>. Ukah outslugged Osigwe and made her look silly at
\ntimes, as she flowed and countered beautifully out of combinations.
\nUkah (9-0, 3-0 PFL) kept her unbeaten record intact despite a blind
\nref who unbelievably scored the bout in favor of Osigwe (5-4, 0-1
\nPFL), who suffered her first loss since 2023.<\/p>\n

Nigerian welterweight David
\nSamuel<\/a> put a well-rounded beatdown on Abdelrahman
\nMohamed<\/a>. The undefeated PFL debutant exploded in the SmartCage
\nand overwhelmed Mohamed from the onslaught. After dropping Mohamed
\n(4-1, 0-1 PFL) with a thudding right hand, Samuel allowed him to
\nrise to his feet before dropping him again with a stiff jab. As
\nMohmaed realized he was out of his depth, Samuel (4-0, 1-0)
\n
\ncapped off his dominant performance with a rear-naked
\nchoke<\/a><\/strong> with 57 seconds remaining in the first
\nround.<\/p>\n

Aureo
\nCruz<\/a>\u2019s and Abdoul
\nRazac Sankara<\/a>\u2019s lightweight tilt was ruled a no-contest after
\nCruz was accidentally poked in his eye midway through the second
\nround. Neither fighter had separated themself, but Cruz (3-0) hoped
\nto pick up the pace. As the Angolan dipped into a punch, Sankara\u2019s
\nfinger accidentally scraped his eye. Cruz called for time and was
\nunable to continue, causing referee Ferdinand Basson to call the
\nbout.<\/p>\n

Shadrick
\nDju Yemba<\/a> escaped with a razor-thin split decision win over
\nJean-Jacques
\nLubaya<\/a> in featherweight action (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). Yemba
\n(6-1, 1-1 PFL) was knocked out in the first round of the PFL Africa
\ntournament last season, and things weren\u2019t looking great early
\nagainst Lubaya (9-3, 0-2 PFL). Yemba dropped the first round, but
\nfought his way back into the fight as Lubaya\u2019s pace began to slow.
\nYemba found a lot of success with his jab and picked away at
\nLubaya\u2019s guard in spurts, handing the Congolese slugger his
\nthird-straight loss.<\/p>\n

After dropping a split decision in his PFL Africa debut last
\nseason, Asiashu
\nTshitamba<\/a> made life easy on the judges with a three-round
\nstriking masterclass over Shannon
\nVan Tonder<\/a> (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Tshitamba (7-5, 1-1 PFL) used
\nhis range and picked Van Tonder apart like a chuck roast, catching
\nhim with jabs, crosses, and sneaky hooks to the body. Van Tonder
\nhad no answers for the test Tshitamba presented and was forced to
\ntake his lesson.<\/p>\n

Felista
\nMugo<\/a> pulled out a hard-fought unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27,
\n30-26) over Uganda\u2019s Annet Kiiza<\/a>
\nin a 117-pound catchweight bout. Don\u2019t let the scorecards fool you;
\nthis fight was competitive throughout. Mugo (5-1-1, 1-0 PFL) was
\nquickly pulled into a firefight as Kiiza\u2019s striking was fast and
\nferocious. But the Kenyan found her success on the ground. Despite
\nKiiza\u2019s attempt to reverse position, Mugo kept her hips heavy and
\nspent most of the fight in control. As the fight wore on, Kiiza\u2019s
\n(3-2, 0-1 PFL) strength and speed waned as Mugo dragged her into
