There\u2019s been a theme to Paulo
\nCosta<\/a>\u2019s recent victories in the
\nUFC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After an impressive knockout over Azamat
\nMurzakanov<\/a> in the UFC 327<\/a>
\nco-main event, his second victory over a Russian opponent in 10
\nmonths (he also defeated Roman
\nKopylov<\/a> at UFC 318), Costa revealed to Ag.Fight\u2019s Diego Ribas
\nthat he would love to face a third \u201cRussian\u201d next.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo Russians, two southpaws in a row, and I would be glad if UFC
\nhad a third one to offer me,\u201d Costa said in a video interview.
\n\u201c[Khamzat] Chimaev. Actually he is a Gourmet Chechen, not Russian.
\nBut it doesn\u2019t matter. The UFC knows how much I want to face
\nhim.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about his post-fight conversation with U.S. President
\nDonalt Trump, Costa said it was a private talk about a \u201cfriend in
\ncommon\u201d \u2014 likely former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro or his
\nson, Flavio Bolsonaro, who will be running in next national
\npresident election against current president Lulas da Silva.
\nAccording with the last poll, Bolsonaro and da Silva are
\ntechnically tied.<\/p>\n

When a Plan Comes Together<\/h2>\n

Costa also talked about the importance of the game plan designed by
\nhis trainers.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy trainers studied every step of Azamat. We trained so hard for
\nthe last three months. If you see the videos of our backstage
\nwarmup you will see that we were expecting everything he did. Our
\nmain goal was not to brawl but follow the tactics and hit him
\nwithout getting hit,\u201d Costa said.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian standout revealed that he has one fight remaining on
\nhis current UFC contract and hopes to receive a title shot next.
\nWhether that comes at 205 pounds, where he was victorious at UFC
\n327, or at middleweight, where he previously fought, is not
\nimportant.<\/p>\n

\u201cEither one,\u201d Costa said.<\/p>\n
