\nit comes to staging mixed martial arts events.<\/p>\n

Of course, much will hinge on the company\u2019s May 16 debut:
\na Netflix card<\/a> at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles headlined by
\nRonda
\nRousey<\/a> and Gina Carano<\/a>.
\nMVP\u2019s MMA debut also features a number of notable names such as
\nFrancis
\nNgannou<\/a>, Nate Diaz<\/a>,
\nMike
\nPerry<\/a>, Junior dos
\nSantos<\/a> and Muhammad
\nMokaev<\/a>, to name a few.<\/p>\n

MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian recently discussed the
\norganization\u2019s future in an interview with the Sports Business Journal<\/a> and admitted that the
\npromotion is interested in MMA beyond one-off events.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a lot of it depends on May 16, right?\u201d Bidarian said.
\n\u201cWe\u2019re putting a lot of fire power, star power, distribution to the
\nevent. If it works, and I\u2019m very confident it will work, yes — MVP
\nwill be involved in MMA over the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix will provide MVP will a significant platform for its debut
\nevent. The Jake Paul<\/a> vs.
\nMike Tyson bout on Netflix, for example, reportedly drew more than
\n100 million viewers to the streaming platform. Bidarian believes
\nthe Rousey vs. Carano card can have a similar impact in MMA.<\/p>\n

Plenty of Interest<\/h2>\n

\u201c[Netflix is] really a difference maker in being able to stand up a
\nproduct that can be viewed as top-tier distribution and exposure
\nfor the athletes, so May 16 will be tell-tale in terms of what\u2019s
\npossible,\u201d Bidarian said. \u201cI\u2019m confident that we will have one of
\nthe, if not the most viewed, MMA event in history, just like I was
\nconfident that Paul-Tyson would break streaming records in the U.S.
\nversus any form of content.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd on the back of that, we look forward to sitting down with
\nNetflix or other distributors and seeing what the MMA strategy is
\nfor us going forward. But we\u2019ve had no shortage of interested
\nathletes reaching out to us to be involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bidarian would not reveal if MVP has a multi-event deal with
\nNetflix, which thus far has shown interest in streaming one-off
\nattractions in combat sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis to me is a crossover mainstream event,\u201d Bidarian said. \u201cAnd
\nfor us to be able to add the caliber of star power, plus true
\ntop-tier current contenders … it\u2019s a great card that we\u2019re proud
\nof and we think we\u2019ll be very successful come Saturday, May
\n16.\u201d<\/p>\n
