\nSwanson<\/a> went out on a high note.<\/p>\n
\n22-year mixed martial arts career at UFC 327<\/a>,
\nwhere he defeated Nate
\nLandwehr<\/a> via technical knockout 4:06 into Round 1 of their
\nfeatherweight clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday
\nnight. Swanson made it look easy against the former M-1 Global
\nchampion, dropping him twice en route to earning the stoppage.<\/p>\n
\nworried about him picking up the pace late in the fight. And I was
\nexpecting him to to come after me a little bit more. And I was
\ntrying to calm it down. And so once I kind of realized that he
\nwasn’t having a lot of success, I was like, all right, I need to I
\nneed to start pulling the trigger.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nattendance, Swanson couldn\u2019t have scripted a better ending to an
\naccomplished MMA career.<\/p>\n
\nsaid. \u201cI was so stressed out. I wanted to have a good send off. I
\njust wanted to have a good performance I could be proud of. And
\nthen to to do it like that, to have my family here, have
\neverything. I feel blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\ninspiration to some and to kind of mentor people and inspire
\npeople. But ultimately, this was my journey and I’m proud of where

\nyou can accomplish as a human.\u201d<\/p>\nGrowing and Maturing<\/h2>\n
\nfighting. As he matured, he found that he was able to balance more
\naspects of his life.<\/p>\n
\nand so selfish,\u201d Swanson said. \u201cAnd that’s what you\u2019ve got to do.
\nYou\u2019ve got to sacrifice. But along the way, I learned to become a
\nstrong enough person to be able to handle being a father and a
\nhusband and a coach and a manager and a business owner and all
\nthese things while still competing. That shows like the strength of
\nwhat I’ve become as a human. That’s what I’m proud of.\u201d As he bids
\nfarewell to the UFC, Swanson demonstrated that he still had
\nsomething left in the tank by winning three of his last four
\nOctagon appearances. With that being said, Swanson is still looking
\nforward life as a retired fighter.<\/p>\n
\nhe said. \u201cI’m always like, \u2018Why do I do this?\u2019 I want to have a
\nmore mellow life. I enjoy coming to the fights and getting some
\nexcitement here and there. But man, 22 years I’ve been doing this.
\nSo somebody should talk me out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
