\nthe first 30 seconds, as they circle each other in the middle of
\nthe cage. Hackett misses on an overhand right. The Aussie feints,
\nducks in and out of the pocket and lands with a body kick. Vazquez
\nnot offering much in return. Inside leg kick from Hackett. Vazquez
\nblocks a head kick and stomps at the lead leg. They exchange right
\nhands, though neither woman landed cleanly. Outside leg kick from
\nHackett, who then slips out of range. Vazquez shields herself from
\nanother high kick. Still not nearly enough output from the PFL
\nnewcomer. Hackett connects with an inside leg kick, switches
\nstances and decks her opponent with a left hook. She hovers above
\nVazquez, avoids an upkick and settles in half guard. Hackett
\napplies heavy shoulder pressure from the top while mixing in a few
\nright hands. She climbs to full mount and unleashes punches with
\nboth hands. Miner takes a close look as the round concludes.<\/p>\n

\nat the lead leg, then misfires on a body kick. Hackett slowly
\ncrowding her opponent. She jabs the body, connects with a right
\nhand over the top and clips Vazquez with a left hook. It draws oohs
\nand aahs from those in attendance. Midway through the round. More
\njabs from Hackett, who eats a leg kick and stands her ground.
\nVazquez has not landed anything of consequence. Hackett doubles up
\non her jab and counters with a left hook. Vazquez lands side kicks
\nto the lead leg, followed by a straight left to the breadbasket.
\nHackett answers with a leg kick, then a front kick to the body.
\nThirty seconds to go. Lots of one-way traffic in this one. They
\nexchange leg kicks. Vazquez flurries in the waning moments but hits

\nwith a jab and a strong kick to the inner thigh. Vazquez coming up
\nshort on the vast majority of her punches. Hackett doubles up on
\nleft hands and blocks a spinning backfist. Vazquez moves forward
\nbehind a right hand, only to come up empty yet again. More jabs
\nfrom Hackett, who ducks the return fire and circles out of danger.
\nShe changes levels and secures a takedown. Vazquez scrambles to her
\nfeet and braces herself along the fence. Hackett fires knees to the
\nbody. Two minutes to go. Vazquez avoids the first trip attempt but
\nnot the second. Hackett drags her to the canvas and moves behind
\nher. Vazquez gets back to her feet and elbows the thigh. She
\nretreats to a knee and eats some punches, then stands. Hackett
\nstays glued to her, drags her to the mat and takes the back, with
\nhooks. She laces her arms around Vazquez\u2019s head, then steps over to
\nfull mount, battering her opponent with punches while she

\ngo. Gittins opens with a one-one-two. He then clinches and uncorks
\na knee to the body. They separate. Gittins target the body with a
\nstraight right. Gauci answers with an overhand right. Gittins stays
\nbusy with elbows over the top. Gauci lands a front kick to the
\nbody, then goes to the midsection with punches from both hands.
\nThey exchange jabs. Gittins steps forward with a knee. Gauci sneaks
\nin a right hand, then goes to the body with a left hook. Gittins
\nthe busier of the two participants thus far. He connects with a
\nleft hook to the ribcage. Gauci struggling to answer his pace.
\nOne-twos from Gittins and a front kick to the body. Gauci counters
\nwith a clean counter right hand and drops his counterpart to a
\nseated position. Gittins gets back to his feet. Gauci digs a left
\nhook to the body and cuts off an attempted takedown. Multi-strike
\nvolley from Gittins, punctuated by a knee. One minute to go. Gauci
\ntriples up on his left hook, firing two to the body and another to
\nthe head. Gittins continues to let his hands go. He connects with
\nfour punches in a row at one point, including an uppercut. Hooks
\nfrom both hands from Gittins, who\u2019s pushing a merciless pace.<\/p>\n

\nquickly Gittins turns the tide. He pins Gauci on the fence with
\npunches and delivers an elbow on the break. More punches and elbows
\nfrom Gittins. Gauci targets the body in response. Gittins zeroes in
\non the lower lead leg with a kick and exchanges punches. He lands a
\nclose-range elbow over the top. Spinning back elbow from Gittins,
\nwho briefly loses his balance and stands. Gauci still has no answer
\nfor the volume. Gittins mixes elbows with punches. Gauci sneaks in
\na right hand over the top, followed by a left hook to the body.
\nNeither man willing to cede ground here. Gittins doubles up on his
\njab and eats a low kick, then steps into a knee to the body. Gauci
\ntries to answer back but absorbs two or three shots for every one
\nhe throws. Less than a minute left. They trade at close range.
\nGittins connects with hooks to the body from both hands. Gauci
\nresponds with an uppercut. Firefight continues.<\/p>\n

\nforward for more hand-to-hand combat. Gauci takes the center.
\nGittins calls upon his venomous mixture of punches and elbows in
\ntight spaces. Gauci connects with a right hand over the top, covers
\nup and then gets off two more punches. Nice leg kick from Gittins.
\nHe resets and lets his hands go again. McCarthy pauses the action
\nto address an issue with one of Gauci\u2019s glove. Back at it. Gittins
\nbobs and weaves, then ducks into a few punches. Sharp jab from
\nGauci, followed by a sneaky left hook. He presses forward into the
\nclinch, then separates. Gauci fires elbows from both sides, then
\nfollows with an overhand right. They clinch, and Gittins presses
\nthe Aussie into the fence. He throws knees to the inner thigh.
\nGauci separates and circles into open space. Three-punch combo from
\nGauci. Ninety seconds to go. They trade shots in the center of the
\ncage. Gauci connects with a right hook to the body. Blood dripping
\nfrom Gittin\u2019s face. Gauci lands a solid uppercut and bullies his
\nway into a takedown. He maintains top position but fails to land
\nanything of consequence. Nevertheless, Gauci likely salted away
\nthis round.<\/p>\n

\nback and threads both hooks. Short punches from Martinez, who loses
\none hook, then the other. He disengages and scrambles onto the back
\nagain. Bachar defends his neck. Martinez peppers him with punches
\nfrom behind. Ninety seconds to go. Bachar lands a few blind punches
\nof his own. Martinez rolls to full mount, then secures back control
\nagain. Frustration building for Bachar, who\u2019s off to a rough

\nposition and hammers away with punches, then moves to the back.
\nCarvalho turns into his counterpart\u2019s guard, and they stand
\ntogether. He secures the clinch and scores with shoulder strikes.
\nCarvalho mixes in a few foot stomps and knees to the thigh, then
\ncompletes a takedown. Cossio back to his feet and lands an elbow

\nCarvalho. He attacks the body with knees and left hooks. Cossio
\ngoes for a takedown. Carvalho grabs the fence and draws a warning
\nbut manages to stay upright.<\/p>\n

\nCarvalho\u2019s nose now. He presses forward and connects with punches
\nfrom both hands. Carvalho clinches, eats a knee and absorbs a few
\nelbows. Cossio pulls him into punches and staggers him with a right
\nhand. He jumps into a guillotine and wraps Carvalho in full guard.
\nNo luck for Cossio, who shrimps to the fence and gets to his feet.
\nThey separate. Sneaky elbows from Cossio. Carvalho counters with a
\nleft hook. He lands a left hand over the top and follows with
\nknees. Cossio\u2019s right eye swelling rapidly. Carvalho connects with
\na right hook and sidesteps a slashing elbow.<\/p>\n

\nfatigue, lands overhands from both sides. He steps forward with
\nbody kicks and cracks Cossio with a stinging right. Midway through
\nthe round. Carvalho throwing the tighter punches. He follows two
\npunches with a series of clinch knees and double-leg takedown.
\nCossio gets back to his feet but finds himself stuck in the clinch,
\nlosing valuable time. Cossio lands a few knees to the body before
\nthey separate. He lands a front kick to the body and ducks in on a
\ntakedown attempt but decides against it. Cossio threatens the neck
\nbriefly, then lands an elbow. They separate and Carvalho zeroes in
\non the body and head. Cossio returns fire and hurts Carvalho to the
\nbody. Carvalho trying to survive. He clinches and exchanges to the
\nfinal bell.<\/p>\n
