Dana White is trying his best to secure the best treatment possible
\nfor Canadian mass shooting victim Maya Gebala. <\/p>\n

Gebala\u2019s name has been in the
\nUFC<\/a> Octagon for the past few months. Gebala, 12, was shot in
\nthe head and neck during one of the deadliest mass shootings in
\nCanadian history in Tumbler Ridge this past February. White reached
\nout to the family, offering help, when he heard the news. Gebala\u2019s
\nparents want to provide her with the best medical care possible,
\nlikely in the U.S. While it was recently reported that Gebala will
\nbe treated in Los Angeles, White claims that the procedure is not
\nas simple as it seems. While the UFC head honcho has stepped in to
\nhelp with his team, he seems annoyed with the complications
\nregarding treating Gebala in the U.S. However, White promises that
\nhe and his team are working on it.<\/p>\n

Not as Easy as it Sounds<\/h2>\n

\u201cI saw it on the news, and I reached out to the family,\u201d White said
\nat the UFC Winnipeg post-fight press conference<\/a>. \u201cI
\nwould like to help in any way that I can. And obviously, the
\nsituation that she is in \u2013 when you are a parent, you want the best
\npossible care\u2026 They wanted to give their daughter the best chance
\nthey could. And there are some great places in L.A., there\u2019s a
\ngreat place in Houston, there\u2019s a great place in Seattle. So we\u2019re
\nstill sort of working through all that. It\u2019s not as easy as it
\nsounds, where some guy with money jumps in, and everything just
\nhappens. It\u2019s not that easy. It would be f\u2014-ing disgusting to know
\nhow hard it really is. So me and my team have been working on
\nit.\u201d <\/p>\n

Eight people were killed in the shooting at Tumbler Ridge,
\nincluding the mother of the suspect, Jesse Van Rootselaar.
\nRootselaar, who is a biological male but identifies as a woman, had
\npreviously been banned from ChatGPT in 2025 due to the nature of
\nhis conversations with the bot. Gebala\u2019s parents have sued OpenAI
\nfor failing to notify Canadian Police about the threat Rootselaar
\npotentially posed. <\/p>\n
