The
\nUFC<\/a> could be going to Spain despite political
\ntensions. <\/p>\n

The UFC has been considering a card in Spain ever since Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> gained stardom. However, the plan is yet to come to
\nfruition due to technicalities. Topuria previously told Spanish
\nmedia that the UFC was trying to find a roofed venue in Spain,
\nwhile also figuring out the card’s timing, as it would clash with
\nU.S. viewers during the ESPN era. <\/p>\n

However, the idea of UFC\u2019s debut in Spain is seemingly not entirely
\nout of the question. Topuria recently revealed that he plans to
\nfight again at the end of the year after his upcoming fight against
\nJustin
\nGaethje<\/a> in June.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goal is to fight in June and fight again by the end of the
\nyear,\u201d Topuria said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Tight Lipped<\/h2>\n

Helwani then suggested that Topuria could fight at Madison Square
\nGarden in New York, where the UFC usually hosts an annual card.
\nHowever, \u201cEl Matador\u201d briefly mentioned that he might fight in
\nSpain, while refusing to discuss the subject further.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe Spain. Who knows?… I don\u2019t want to talk about it,\u201d he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n

Topuria (17-0) is scheduled to defend his lightweight title against
\ninterim champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> (27-5) at
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14. The iconic card, which is a tribute
\nto America\u2019s 250th year of independence, coincides with President
\nDonald Trump\u2019s birthday. This adds further drama to the main event,
\nwith Spanish Prime Minister Pedro
\nSanchez<\/a> openly criticizing Trump about the ongoing Iranian
\ncrisis. <\/p>\n
