Arman
\nTsarukyan<\/a> doesn\u2019t want to drop down to featherweight unless
\nit\u2019s for a title shot. <\/p>\n

Tsarukyan (23-3) recently revealed that he is considering a return
\nin June, with the opponent yet to be decided. Tsarukyan has been
\nteasing a move to featherweight for a while now and doubled down on
\nit. However, Tsarukyan will only consider dropping down a weight
\nclass to challenge Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> for the title. <\/p>\n

Tsarukyan\u2019s podcast host suggested that \u201cAhalkalakets\u201d could be
\nbooked against Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a>, where the winner would challenge Volkanovski. However,
\nTsarukyan clarified that he would prefer staying at lightweight
\nunless offered a title shot at featherweight. Tsarukyan believes
\nthe lightweight division is more stacked, filled with more stars
\nand opportunities to make more money.<\/p>\n

Weighing His Options<\/h2>\n

\u201cRoughly around June. They\u2019re still deciding who I\u2019ll fight,\u201d
\nTsarukyan told IbraTV<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s even possible that I drop down to
\n[featherweight] to fight for the title\u2026 Ideally, I would prefer to
\nstay in my weight class at lightweight. But if that doesn\u2019t happen,
\nif they offer me a title fight at featherweight, then why not?
\nOtherwise, there\u2019s no point of fighting at featherweight against
\njust anyone; I\u2019d rather fight in my own division. Especially since
\nin out division there are way more names, way more stars to fight,
\nmake more money, and gain more experience.\u201d <\/p>\n

Tsarukyan went to the
\nUFC<\/a> bad books after pulling out of a scheduled lightweight
\ntitle fight against Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> last year. Tsarukyan has since been deliberately
\nsidelined from the lightweight title picture, even when an interim
\ntitle fight was booked. Tsarukyan has been staying active in
\nwrestling competitions as his UFC career stands at a
\ncrossroads. <\/p>\n
