\nrelationship with Tracy
\nCortez<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Ortega met Cortez in 2020 shortly after he left his previous wife
\nStephanie Ortega and their two sons. Shortly after getting into a
\nrelationship with Cortez, Ortega knew that he had made a mistake.
\nHowever, Ortega\u2019s ego was too big to leave Cortez and return to his
\nfamily as he was afraid of being laughed at.<\/p>\n

\u201cShortly into that, I was like \u2018Damn, I f\u2014d up.\u2019 But because I
\nalready left the kids, left the family, I was like, \u2018If I dump her
\nright now, everyone\u2019s gonna laugh at me.\u2019 So it was the ego again,\u201d
\nOrtega told Dominick
\nCruz<\/a> on the “Love
\n& War\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cI thought I can\u2019t let people laugh at me, so
\nI\u2019m gonna put up with all the craziness\u2026 I knew it four months
\nin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ortega (16-5) and Cortez (12-3) finally broke up amidst public
\ndrama in 2023. Ortega claims his mother had warned him about Cortez
\nin the beginning of their relationship. While Ortega initially
\nthought his mother was just sour, \u201cT-City\u201d realized with time he
\nwas not compatible with Cortez. Ortega\u2019s mother had allegedly told
\nhim that he would never find peace, which he claims he never did
\nwith Cortez. Ortega allegedly had a terrible fight camp, arguing
\nwith Cortez over petty stuff, going into his unsuccessful
\nfeatherweight title challenge against Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> at UFC 266 in 2021. Ortega claims Cortez wouldn\u2019t
\neven leave when he initially asked her to. Cortez recently had a
\nshort-lived romance with Alex
\nPereira<\/a> after breaking up with Ortega. Pereira officially
\nannounced the breakup days after they were publicly spotted
\ntogether earlier this year. Ortega believes guys like Pereira
\nquickly realized why he parted ways with Cortez.<\/p>\n

Never at Peace<\/h2>\n

\u201cFinally I had enough and gave myself a Christmas present and said,
\n\u2018You gotta leave on Christmas.\u2019 My Mom, my family, the second they
\nsaw me with [Cortez], they were like, \u2018We don\u2019t want any part of
\nyou.\u2019… The worst thing that can happen to my mom is to see her
\nson with someone like that,\u201d Ortega said. \u201cAt that time I thought
\nshe was just being a hater. And then as I started living that kind
\nof life, she was like, \u2018Son, you\u2019ll never be at peace.\u2019…I was
\nnever at peace. Training camps were horrible. The Volkanovski fight
\n\u2013 horrible. Arguing over nonsense at 3-4 in the morning. I was like
\nbro, this girl is [crazy]. Finally, I\u2019m like, \u2018Get out of here,
\nleave.\u2019 And she wouldn\u2019t leave\u2026It wasn\u2019t for me. Now guys like
\nAlex
\nPereira<\/a> are starting to realize that.\u201d
