Gilbert
\nBurns<\/a> is eyeing a new chapter in MMA after he retired from
\nprofessional competition. <\/p>\n

Burns (22-10) recently revealed that he plans to become a fighter
\nmanager after having recently retired from fighting. While Burns
\nhad long been considering a career in management, the plan was on
\nhold while he was active as a fighter. Burns believes he can help
\nseveral fighters sign with the
\nUFC<\/a> with a good body of work behind them. According to
\n\u201cDurinho,\u201d many managers don\u2019t extend their help to fighters beyond
\nsecuring matchups in the Octagon. However, the Brazilian legend
\nwants to help fighters with their social media, relationships, and
\nbuild their brands. Burns also believes he will have a better
\nunderstanding of matchups, where he can ensure a purse befitting
\nthe difficulty of the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think now another cycle of my life will begin where I will also
\ngive my all,\u201d Burns said. \u201cI will dedicate myself. I already have a
\nplan to be a manager now. This plan was tucked away in a drawer.
\nNow it\u2019s time to take it out of the drawer\u2026 I think it’s possible
\nto help many athletes get to the UFC, and get to the UFC with good
\nwork. I think there are many managers who just put the guy there
\nand give the minimum amount of help, but it doesn’t really help a
\nguy to have a professional career as it should be. Like helping the
\nguy on social media, helping the guy with relationships, helping
\nhim become a brand. That\u2019s something I really wanna do when I\u2019m a
\nmanager. Also, understanding the matchmaking, the fights you can
\nmake, and what the best fights are. There will be tough fights, but
\nthere had to be a good cost-benefit ratio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burns had an impressive UFC career, going 15-10 in the promotion,
\nonly losing to top-tier opponents. \u201cDurinho\u201d retired last weekend
\non a five-fight skid, following a loss to surging contender
\nMike
\nMalott<\/a> at UFC
\nWinnipeg<\/a>. <\/p>\n
