Joselyne
\nEdwards<\/a> did some deep introspection before the biggest win of
\nher career so far.<\/p>\n

Edwards faced her biggest step up in competition in Norma
\nDumont<\/a> in the co-main event at
\nUFC Fight Night 274<\/a> in Las Vegas. Edwards earned a hard-fought
\nunanimous decision win after three rounds of back-and-forth
\naction. <\/p>\n

Edwards subsequently emphasized her newfound skillset of patience.
\nEdwards revealed that she has recently developed a reading habit
\nand the practice of meditation. The 30-year-old has also been
\nreassessing herself based on her past performances. While Edwards
\nhas four losses in her UFC career, the Panamanian believes they
\nwere mostly due to her being \u201cdumb\u201d and not learning from her
\nmistakes. Edwards has also leared to enjoy her own company while
\nself-reflecting and planning her future.<\/p>\n

Self Evaluation<\/h2>\n

\u201cI have developed the virtue of patience in my game,\u201d Edwards said
\nin a post-fight interview with the UFC. \u201cI now know when to work
\nfor things and when to strike at the right time\u2026 When you put your
\nlife in perspective and you start planning your life, you learn a
\nlot of things. I like to read a lot. I like to get informed a lot.
\nI got into the habit of reading. When you come out of your home
\ncountry \u2013 I\u2019m here in Vegas \u2013 yes, I have friendships and the team,
\nthey help me a lot, they\u2019re with me all the time. But whenever
\nyou\u2019re alone, you have to just take your time and enjoy your
\nmoments alone. You maybe have to reassess yourself. I sat down and
\nthought about what I had done throughout my career. I\u2019ve had some
\nlosses by decision. I felt they were dumb, like we say back home,
\n\u2018hard headed.\u2019 I wouldn\u2019t take new things in. I though to myself,
\n\u2018They were dumb losses, you can do better.\u2019 Lot of self-evaluation,
\nlot of reading, I love to meditate, and I started thinking about
\nthe last steps to do my next step.\u201d<\/p>\n

Edwards (18-6) is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, the
\nlongest of her
\nUFC<\/a> career, including four finishes. Edwards is eyeing either
\nthe top two bantamweight contenders or a title shot next. <\/p>\n
