Boxing is not a priority for Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> right now. <\/p>\n

Aspinall has long been teasing a transition to boxing. While
\nAspinall seemed really keen on a move to boxing until recently, the
\n
\nUFC<\/a> heavyweight champion has now changed tune. Aspinall
\nrecently confirmed that he isn\u2019t focused on boxing right now as he
\nstill has lots left to do in the UFC.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I\u2019m not thinking about boxing that much right now,\u201d
\nAspinall said in a recent interview (via unforgettable.mma). \u201cI\u2019ve
\ngot more stuff to do with the UFC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ongoing Tensions<\/h2>\n

Aspinall\u2019s (15-3) potential move to boxing was highlighted even
\nmore during his ongoing rift with the UFC.. As the interim
\nchampion, \u201cHoney Badger\u201d kept waiting for a title unifier against
\nJon
\nJones<\/a>, who retired last year after stalling the heavyweight
\ndivision for more than a year. Aspinall was subsequently promoted
\nto interim champion and booked to defend his title for the first
\ntime against Ciryl Gane<\/a>
\nat UFC 320<\/a>
\nlast year. However, the fight unfortunately ended in a no-contest
\nafter Gane simultaneously poked Aspinall in both eyes in the first
\nround. Dana White was not impressed with Aspinall\u2019s decision to
\ndiscontinue the fight and hinted that the Englishman was looking
\nfor a way out. While Aspinall underwent surgeries in both eyes,
\nWhite downplayed them as \u201cinjections.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the ongoing rift, Aspinall\u2019s father, Andy, even suggested
\nthat the champion might now renew his UFC contract and pursue a
\ncareer in boxing instead. The tension has further increased with
\nAspinall recently signing with the management of Eddie Hearn,
\nWhite\u2019s archrival. <\/p>\n
