For the first time in his
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> career, Johnny
\nWalker<\/a> will not have to cut weight for a fight.<\/p>\n

Towering 6-foot-5 Brazilian striker Walker (22-10, 1 NC) has
\nelected to move back to heavyweight, a division in which he
\ncompeted at for a few years earlier on in his career but no later
\nthan 2018. Cutting a massive amount of weight and reportedly
\nwalking around at 245 pounds or so, the 34-year-old has not missed
\nweight since joining the promotion. He relocates up in weight, per
\nMMA
\nMania<\/a> on Thursday, to face Ante Delija<\/a>
\n(26-8) at UFC
\nBelgrade<\/a> on Aug. 1. Opponent Delija has since confirmed the
\npairing on his Instagram
\nStories<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

Walker has struggled as of late, winning once in his last five
\noutings. Since a no contest with future champ Magomed
\nAnkalaev<\/a> in 2023\u2014and a rematch less than three months later
\nthat spelled disaster for Walker\u2014Walker has gotten his raised a
\nsingle time when he stopped surging Mingyang
\nZhang<\/a> with leg kicks and punches. Most recently, he and
\nDominick
\nReyes<\/a> combined for three lackluster rounds at UFC 327, with the
\nformer title challenger getting the split nod. As a professional,
\nthe Brazilian has earned 20 of his 22 victories inside the
\ndistance.<\/p>\n

Trouble walking, or walking trouble?<\/h2>\n

Like Walker, foe Delija has fallen on hard time in his last few
\noutings. While the man known as “Walking Trouble” burst onto the
\nscene in his return to the promotion from the Professional Fighters League<\/a> last September,
\nexacting revenge against Marcin
\nTybura<\/a> with a two-minute knockout, his fortunes have dulled
\nsince then. Two months after stopping Tybura, the Croatian was
\nthrust into an opportunity against rising heavyweight Waldo
\nCortes-Acosta<\/a>, and he was turned away in four minutes. A
\ndecision defeat to Serghei
\nSpivac<\/a> in February put Delija on the first losing streak of his
\ncareer.
