A youthful appearance hides the fact that Leandro
\nHigo<\/a> has quite literally pursued his passion for decades. He
\nmade his pro debut at the age of 17 and has fought virtually
\neverywhere since, from Jungle
\nFight<\/a>, the
\nResurrection Fighting Alliance<\/a> and the
\nLegacy Fighting Alliance<\/a> to \u201cThe Ultimate Fighter Brazil\u201d
\nSeason 4 and Bellator
\nMMA<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Higo now readies himself for his second appearance under the
\n
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> flag, as he will face Magomed
\n\u201cTiger\u201d Magomedov<\/a> in a
\nPFL Sioux Falls<\/a> bantamweight showcase on Saturday at the
\nSanford Pentagon in South Dakota. It has been quite a journey for
\nthe 37-year-old Brazilian.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been 20 years since my debut, when I started fighting vale
\ntudo in my hometown of Mossoro,\u201d Higo told Sherdog.com. \u201cI started
\nout without any expectations. It was just a dream. I couldn\u2019t
\nimagine getting as far as I have. On many occasions, I hit the
\ngoalpost, but that\u2019s life. Athletes never know how things will play
\nout, but I\u2019m happy with my career, considering where I came from
\nand where I am today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in one of the biggest organizations on the planet facing their
\nbest athletes,\u201d he added. \u201cFor me, it\u2019s a privilege, and to make a
\nliving from it is also surreal. I never imagined it, and thank God,
\nI\u2019ve been doing it for quite a few years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Higo has struggled to stay active since 2019 due to canceled bouts,
\nopponent changes and the Bellator-PFL merger. He defeated James
\nGallagher<\/a> on short notice as a featherweight and later served
\nas a backup for the Magomedov-Patrick
\n\u201cPatchy\u201d Mix<\/a> championship fight in Paris. However, long
\nstretches of inactivity stalled his momentum. Higo last competed at
\n2025 PFL World Tournament 2, where he wound up on the wrong side of
\na split decision against Marcirley
\nAlves<\/a> more than a year ago.<\/p>\n
