\nUFC Perth<\/a> in enemy territory against Jack
\nDella Maddalena<\/a> (18-4) on Saturday. Prates chopped at
\nMaddalena\u2019s lead leg early on, which left the Australian nearly
\nunable to move in the later rounds. It was a one-sided beatdown
\nfrom Prates en route to a third-round stoppage win. Prates also
\nearned his seventh UFC bonus in as many victories.<\/p>\n

Prates largely kept his guard low in his signature fashion,
\nexpression zero regard for his opponent\u2019s striking acumen. \u201cThe
\nNightmare\u201d revealed that he had little respect for Maddalena\u2019s
\npower after absorbing the Australian\u2019s first punch. Prates also
\ncredits Brazilian lightweight Felipe
\nDouglas<\/a> for helping him by perfectly mimicking Maddalena during
\nfight camp. After receiving the power from Maddalena, Prates knew
\nthat it was everything he had prepared for, and there was no way he
\nwould lose. Prates also revealed that he similarly lost respect for
\nGeoff
\nNeal<\/a> and Leon
\nEdwards<\/a>\u2019 power after feeling their punches in his last two
\nvictories. Prates said at the post-fight media scrum:<\/p>\n

\u201cThat guy Felipe [Douglas] he helped me a lot,\u201d he admitted. \u201cFor
\nme, he is the best lightweight outside the UFC\u2026I felt a punch and I
\nwas like, \u2018Exactly what we trained for. No way you\u2019re gonna lose
\ntoday.\u2019…In the beginning of the fight I felt the punch. And then
\nI was like, \u2018Man, it\u2019s not gonna knock me out.\u2019 When I fought
\nGeoff
\nNeal<\/a>, when I fought Leon [Edwards], it was the same. I start
\nthe fight with my hands up. And then I got punched, and I was like,
\n\u2018Okay, I can do my game.\u2019 Because I like to drop my hands and do

Prates has claimed Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> will put his welterweight title on the line against

\nGarry<\/a> at UFC 330 on Aug. 15, but there has been no additional
\nconfirmation of that pairing at this time. The Brazilian knockout
\nartist seeks the neck crack at gold, ideally against the winner of
