\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> welterweight title shot just

\nKamaru
\nUsman<\/a> are all in the running for the next welterweight title
\nshot against Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> (28-1). Prates dominantly beat down Jack Della
\nMaddlena en route to a third-round stoppage win at
\nUFC Perth<\/a> last weekend and subsequently claimed that Makhachev
\nis set to defend his title against Garry in August. \u201cThe Nightmare\u201d
\nsaid that he is willing to wait for the winner of that bout, which
\nwas allegedly confirmed. However, Makhachev says no one from the
\nUFC has said who his next opponent will be. According to Makhachev,
\nthere are still four contenders in the running for the next title
\nshot, including Usman, who himself admitted that he is out of the
\nrace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe UFC haven\u2019t informed me yet, but there\u2019s been a lot of rumors
\nabout me fighting Ian Garry next,\u201d Makhachev told Red Corner MMA.
\n\u201cYet, I haven\u2019t talked with any [UFC] officials about this fight.
\nSo, I can\u2019t tell for sure who is the next contender. I\u2019ve got three
\nor four possible matchups. Kamaru Usman is also up there. Ian
\nGarry, Morales, Prates. That\u2019s four contenders, plus Shavkat
\n[Rakhmonov] might be No. 5. They\u2019re all expecting a title
\nshot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Prates\u2019 win over Maddalena last weekend, Makhachev
\nbelieves a fight against the Brazilian would generate the most
\nhype.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Prates has got the hype now. He\u2019s talked about much more
\nnow. So, I think a fight against him would be the most
\ninteresting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prates (24-7) suffered his only UFC loss against Garry.<\/p>\n
