\nweek before the event.<\/p>\n

The promotion on Saturday announced that Muhammad
\nMokaev<\/a> has been pulled from his proposed bout against Adriano
\nMoraes<\/a> due to \u201cvisa delays.\u201d As a result, Phumi Nkuta<\/a>
\nwill step in and face Moraes in a 130-pound catchweight
\nmatchup.<\/p>\n


\nMost Valuable Promotions “Rousey vs. Carano”<\/a> takes place on May
\n16 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and is headlined by a
\nfive-round, featherweight clash pitting Ronda
\nRousey<\/a> against Gina Carano<\/a>.
\nThe main card airs on Netflix beginning at 9 p.m. ET\/6 p.m. PT. The
\nprelims, which include Moraes vs. Nkuta, kick off at 6 p.m. ET\/3
\np.m. PT on MVP\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

Unbeaten and Experienced<\/h2>\n

A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Nkuta will take an 11-0
\nprofessional mark into the showdown against Moraes. The 30-year-old
\nknown as \u201cTurbo\u201d last appeared at Urijah
\nFaber<\/a>\u2019s A1 Combat 34 on March 27, when he took a unanimous
\nverdict over Namiki
\nKawahara<\/a>. Nkuta is a former
\nCage Fury Fighting Championships<\/a> title holder who has also
\ncompeted for Bellator
\nMMA<\/a> and
\nLegacy Fighting Alliance<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moraes is a former ONE champion at 135 pounds. \u201cBlack Diamond\u201d made
\nhis name fighting under the ONE banner, going 12-6 during a lengthy
\nstint that began in 2013. He notably scored a second-round knockout
\nvictory against Demetrious
\nJohnson<\/a> in a 135-pound title bout in April 2021.<\/p>\n

Mokaev, who is the reigning
\nBrave Combat Federation<\/a> titlist, is unbeaten in 17 professional
\noutings. He earned a Top 10 ranking after going 7-0 in the UFC,
\nbesting the likes of Manel Kape<\/a>,
\nAlex
\nPerez<\/a> and Tim Elliott<\/a>
\nin the process. He was released from the organization in 2024 and
\nhas gone 3-0 in MMA bouts since then, winning the Brave CF
\nflyweight strap this past November.<\/p>\n
