Gautier faced Osman Diaz<\/a>
\nin a middleweight matchup at UFC 328<\/a>
\non Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. While
\nDiaz managed to defend himself in the first round, Gautier knocked
\nhim out with a right hand early in the second round. Gautier says
\nhe was prepared to go the distance and was in no rush to finish the
\nfight. \u201cThe Silent Assassin\u201d claims he wasn\u2019t even looking for the
\nknockout when it came.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to the cage thinking, \u2018I\u2019m going for 15 minutes,\u2019\u201d Gautier
\nsaid in a post-fight interview witht the UFC. \u201cIf he hangs up
\nbefore 15, it\u2019s fine, but if he doesn\u2019t hang up, it\u2019s OK\u2026 I didn\u2019t
\neven try to knock him out. It just comes naturally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gautier called out Israel
\nAdesanya<\/a> after his win over Diaz. Gautier explains that he is a
\nhuge fan of Adesanya and considers the former champ a legend. While
\nGautier admires Adesanya, the Cameroonian wants to test himself
\nagainst \u201cThe Last Stylebender\u201d, as it would be tough matchup.<\/p>\n

When Your Idols Become Your Rivals<\/h2>\n

\u201cIsrael, I\u2019m a huge fan of him,\u201d Gautier said.\u201dI really love every
\nfight he has. For me, he is a legend. Nobody will ever change that;
\nhe is a legend. I admire him so much. He is an African fighter; he
\nis doing well. So I want to face him. He is someone who will be
\ntough for me\u2026 I don\u2019t want to fight him, but the wall I see in
\nhim.\u201d<\/p>\n

  Gautier (11-1) is undefeated in five
\nUFC<\/a> outings with four finishes. Meanwhile, Adesanya (24-6) is
\non a four-fight slump and coming off a stoppage loss against
\nJoe
\nPyfer<\/a> this past March. <\/p>\n
