\nMost Valuable Promotions<\/a> is pulling out all the stops for its
\nfirst-ever mixed martial arts event.<\/p>\n

MVP and Netflix on Wednesday announced the broadcast team for
\n “Rousey vs. Carano”<\/a> on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Los
\nAngeles. Perhaps the most intriguing revelation in the release was
\nthat Jon
\nJones<\/a> and Cain
\nVelasquez<\/a> will be present for guest commentary and analysis.
\nWhile Velasquez is expected to be on hand for weigh-in coverage on
\nFriday, it is not specified what Jones\u2019 role will be.<\/p>\n

Jones, a former
\nUFC<\/a> two-division champion, recently requested his release from
\nthe Las Vegas-based promotion after being excluded from the White
\nHouse card on June 14. \u201cBones\u201d hasn\u2019t fought since defending the
\nheavyweight crown against Stipe
\nMiocic<\/a> at UFC 309 in November 2024. Though his fighting future
\nis uncertain, Jones
\nhasn’t fully committed to retirement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Velasquez, meanwhile, is a former UFC heavyweight champion who was
\nrecently
\nreleased<\/a> from prison after serving approximately 11 months.
\nVelasquez pleaded no contest to attempted murder, felony assault
\nand additional gun charges stemming from a February 2022 incident
\nin which the former fighter fired a gun at a truck containing
\nmultiple people \u2014 including Harry Goularte, a man accused of
\nmolesting the fighter\u2019s son. Velasquez hasn\u2019t fought since 2019,
\nbut he was regarded as one of the top heavyweights in the sport
\nduring a peak that included two UFC title reigns.<\/p>\n

Familiar Faces on the Call<\/h2>\n

The MVP \u201cRousey vs. Carano\u201d broadcast team will feature Mauro
\nRanallo on play-by-play and UFC veteran on commentary, while Sibley
\nScoles will serve in the reporter role. The event\u2019s desk hosts will
\ninclude Ariel Helwani, ex-UFC champ Tyron
\nWoodley<\/a> and Netflix lead anchor Elle Duncan. Cat Zingano<\/a>
\nis also expected to provide guest commentary and analysis.<\/p>\n

MVP \u201cRousey vs. Carano\u201d is headlined by a five-round featherweight
\nclash between Ronda
\nRousey<\/a> and Gina Carano<\/a>.
\nThe co-main event will see Nate Diaz<\/a> face
\nMike
\nPerry<\/a> at welterweight, while Francis
\nNgannou<\/a> will meet Philipe
\nLins<\/a> in another featured contest at heavyweight. The main card
\nairs on Netflix at 9 p.m. ET\/6 p.m. PT, while prelims stream on the
\nMVP YouTube channel and Netflix\u2019s Tudum at 6 p.m. ET\/3 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n
