Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a> doesn\u2019t hold grudges after a fight. <\/p>\n

Chimaev (15-1) lost his middleweight title to Sean
\nStrickland<\/a> (31-7) via close split decision at UFC 328<\/a>
\nlast weekend. While the rivalry seemed intense in the lead-up to
\nthe fight, Strickland and Chimaev squashed their beef immediately
\nafter the fight. Chimaev and Strickland have since faced backlash
\nfor building up a fake rivalry. <\/p>\n

Chimaev recently explained why he decided to bury the hatchet with
\nStrickland. Chimaev says that he doesn\u2019t believe in keeping grudges
\nafter sharing the Octagon with his opponent. Chimaev gave his best
\ninside the Octagon and came up on the short end of a decision.
\nStrickland also apologized to Chimaev for crossing boundaries with
\nhis trash talk. \u201cBorz\u201d says he believes in forgiveness when someone
\nasks for it.<\/p>\n

Forgive and Forget<\/h2>\n

\u201cAnd regarding that guy \u2014 he said a lot of unnecessary things,\u201d
\nChimaev said on his Instagram Stories (translation via Home of
\nFight). \u201cPeople were asking why I shook his hand and why I put the
\nbelt on him afterward. We don\u2019t have the habit of talking or
\nfighting after a loss. If we fight, we fight inside the cage, and
\nwe fought as best as we could. What Allah has decided is no longer
\nin our control. That guy lowered his head and asked for
\nforgiveness. If a person asks for forgiveness, I can forgive him.
\nI\u2019m not an oppressor so that I would refuse to forgive.\u201d

\nChimaev<\/a> went on stories to explain why he was friendly with
\nSean
\nStrickland<\/a> despite all of the trash talk that was said:<\/p>\n
