\nfighters. <\/p>\n

MVP will host its first MMA
\ncard<\/a> in collaboration with Netflix on Saturday at the Intuit
\nDome in Los Angeles,. MVP co-founder and CEO Nakisa Bidarian
\nrecently revealed that the promotion has guaranteed a $40,000 purse
\nto every fighter, avoiding the show\/win model, which the
\nUFC<\/a> follows. Bidarian also revealed that there will be a
\nperformance bonus up for grabs for every fighter, which will vary
\ndepending on the fighter.<\/p>\n

Challenging the Status Quo<\/h2>\n

\u201cThis event and anything we do going forward as MVP\u2026 [we plan] to
\nhave a minimum $40,000 for fighters to fight in MMA,\u201d Bidarian said
\non \u201cThe Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d \u201cThat\u2019s guaranteed. And then every
\nfighter has a performance bonus in addition to that, which there
\nare different levels, depending on the fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

MVP is making no secret of the fact that it is trying to emerge as
\nthe UFC\u2019s strongest competitors. Ronda
\nRousey<\/a>, who fights Gina Carano<\/a>
\non the MVP card, is going all out against the UFC, her former
\npromotion. <\/p>\n

MVP\u2019s $40,000 purse is a huge raise from the UFC\u2019s usual purse for
\nentry-level fighters. The UFC follows a show\/win model, with
\nentry-level fighters making $12,000 to show and $12,000 to win.
\nHowever, it remains to be seen whether Jake Paul<\/a>\u2019s
\nMVP will be one-and-done with this card, or whether it will grow
\ninto a sustainable MMA promotion. <\/p>\n
