\nCosta<\/a>\u2019s powerful kicks. <\/p>\n

Allen faced surging prospect Costa in the main event at
\nUFC Fight Night 276<\/a> on Saturday in Las Vegas. While Allen
\ndropped Costa early, the tough Brazilian refused to be put away.
\nDespite Costa\u2019s valiant effort, Allen put on a technical
\nmasterclass to earn a unanimous decision win. <\/p>\n

With Costa being known for his kicking game, Allen was expecting
\nheavy kicks. However, \u201cAlmighty\u201d admits that the first spinning
\nback kick from Costa that hit him in the chest felt like a
\nbattering ram. Allen also revealed that he was coughing up phlegm
\nduring fight week. The Englishman jokes that he felt like the kick
\nfrom Costa cleared up the cough in his chest.<\/p>\n

Meeting Expectations<\/h2>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t surprised, but the first back kick he threw felt like I
\ngot hit with a battering ram in the stomach,\u201d Allen said at the post-fight press conference<\/a>. \u201cI kind of
\nexpected that to happen. It was the shot that knocked out Dan Ige<\/a>. But he
\nhit me in the chest so I was like, I think that knocked the mild
\nasthma out of me.\u201d <\/p>\n

Allen (21-4) was unbeaten in his first 10
\nUFC<\/a> fights before suffering consecutive losses against Max
\nHolloway<\/a> and Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a>. While Allen rebounded with a win over Giga
\nChikadze<\/a>, he was subsequently sidelined with an injury for a
\nyear and a half. Allen returned to action at UFC 324<\/a>
\nthis past January, suffering a hard-fought decision loss against
\nJean
\nSilva<\/a>. After returning to the win column against Costa, Allen
\nwants to work his way back into the title picture. <\/p>\n
