\nCovington<\/a> appears to be calling it a career \u2014 at least in
\nMMA.<\/p>\n
\nUFC<\/a> of his retirement after the promotion listed the former
\nwelterweight title challenger as \u201cretired\u201d on its official website<\/a>. Social media account UFC Roster Tracker<\/a> was first to bring word that
\nCovington was no longer part of the UFC roster.<\/p>\n
\nsuffered a third-round TKO defeat to Joaquin
\nBuckley<\/a> at UFC on ESPN 63. The 38-year-old Springfield, Oregon,
\nnative lobbied hard for a spot on the
\nUFC White House<\/a> but was ultimately not included in the June 14
\nevent. After the fight card was announced, Covington admitted that
\nhis relationship with the UFC had gone downhill in recent months
\nand claimed that fighters typically have \u201cno say\u201d in negotiations<\/a>.<\/p>\nShifting Focus<\/h2>\n

\nfighters in the UFC. Covington finished his UFC tenure with a 12-5
