\nPoirier<\/a> recently analyzed the upcoming matchup between Paddy
\nPimblett<\/a> and Benoit St.
\nDenis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pimblett (23-4) is scheduled to fight St. Denis in a lightweight
\nmatchup at UFC
\n329<\/a>on July 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Poirier is
\nbacking Pimblett to beat St. Denis. Poirier notes that Pimblett\u2019s
\nchin survived the test in the Liverpudlian\u2019s last loss against
\nJustin
\nGaethje<\/a>. Poirier believes Gaethje would have knocked out St.
\nDenis had they fought.<\/p>\n

Having shared the Octagon with St. Denis, Poirier claims the
\nFrenchman isn\u2019t very clean on the feet. \u201cThe Diamond\u201d believes
\nPimblett\u2019s striking, which he finds better than St. Denis,\u2019 will be
\nthe deciding factor. However, Poirier also acknowledges that St.
\nDenis isn\u2019t scared to take risks to land his own shots.<\/p>\n

An Edge on the Feet<\/h2>\n

\u201cI got Paddy\u2026 I just compare it to the Gaethje fight,\u201d Poirier said
\non Deep Waters. \u201cI think if BSD fought Gaethje, Gaethje would stop
\nhim on the feet. Paddy took it and was still able to keep walking
\nforward. He definitely has a chin. I just don\u2019t know if BSD\u2019s gonna
\nbe able to get him down. I think Paddy probably wins on the feet.
\nBSD\u2019s not that slick on the feet. He might have power; he is not
\nscared to take chances, he will walk in front of you, get in your
\nface, and put himself in harm\u2019s way to land his shots. I just think
\nPaddy is probably a little bit better on the feet.\u201d<\/p>\n

St. Denis (17-3) was riding a five-fight finishing streak when he
\nfaced his biggest step up in competition in Poirier in 2024. It
\nlooked like a passing of the torch was inevitable when \u201cGod of War\u201d
\ndominated Poirier on the ground in the first round. However,
\nPoirier showed that there are levels to the game as he shut St.
\nDenis\u2019 lights out in a slugfest in the second
\nround.  <\/p>\n
