Ahead of what could be its largest show to date, the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> has worked with its broadcast
\npartner on some special programming.<\/p>\n

Via a release on Thursday from the UFC\u2019s broadcasting partner of
\nParamount, a documentary focusing on part of Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>\u2019s fighting career will be releasing on its streaming
\nplatform. The doc will drop on June 1 on Paramount+, a couple weeks
\nbefore the
\nUFC White House<\/a> event which is headlined by Topuria against
\nJustin
\nGaethje<\/a> for the unified lightweight throne.<\/p>\n

This specific documentary, titled \u201cTopuria Matador,\u201d will cover two
\nmajor fights of Topuria. The spotlight will first shine on his
\nmatch with Josh Emmett<\/a>,
\nwhich marked only the second time he had gone the distance as a
\npro. After beating Emmett, \u201cThe Matador\u201d claimed a featherweight
\ntitle shot and cashed it by knocking out Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a>\u2014this is what the documentary will lead to as it
\nprogresses.<\/p>\n

A man of many upbringings<\/h2>\n

In addition to his July 2023 bout with Emmett and his championship
\ntilt on February 2024 against Volkanovski, the documentary will
\ndelve into the fighter\u2019s early life. Born in Germany to Georgian
\nparents, his family including brother Aleksandre
\nTopuria<\/a> relocated to Georgia for some time before moving on to
\nSpain, where they live and train now.<\/p>\n

The documentary will show some of the grizzly details of the
\nfighting process, including his hard training sessions, his brutal
\nweight cut and plenty of other detail from his coaches. It will
\nalso bring in some of Topuria\u2019s opponents to discuss what he
\nbrought to the table when facing them.<\/p>\n

Still undefeated as a professional, Topuria serves as one of a
\nsmall handful of two-division champs in UFC history. He won the
\n145-pound strap against the aforementioned Volkanovski and defended
\nit once by shellacking the seemingly unflappable Max
\nHolloway<\/a>. Moving up to lightweight, Topuria laid waste to
\nCharles
\nOliveira<\/a> to pick up the vacant crown. His match against Gaethje
\non June 14 will unify his belt with his opponent\u2019s interim
\nstrap.<\/p>\n
