\nThe Fighting Nerds<\/a> team. <\/p>\n

Prates, Ruffy, Jean Silva<\/a>
\nand Caio
\nBorralho<\/a> quickly rose to success in the
\nUFC<\/a> as the Fighting Nerds, sporting the nerd glasses as their
\nsymbol. The team grew under the tutelage of head coach Pablo
\nSucupira in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil. <\/p>\n

However, Ruffy briefly parted ways with the team following his
\nfirst UFC loss against Benoit St.
\nDenis<\/a> last year. Ruffy joined City Kickboxing in New Zealand
\nfor his last fight against Rafael
\nFiziev<\/a>, whom he knocked out this past January. Ruffy has since
\nofficially parted ways<\/a> with the Fighting Nerds team.
\nPrates harbors no hard feelings towards Ruffy despite the latter
\nleaving the team. Ruffy is scheduled to fight Michael
\nChandler<\/a> at
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14. Prates believes Ruffy will defeat
\nChandler and eagerly awaits the fight.<\/p>\n

Cheering on His Former Teammate<\/h2>\n

\u201cHe has his own team,\u201d Prates said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/a> \u201cHe\u2019s really smart and
\nintelligent. I’m sure he is doing a really good job. I think he’s
\ngonna win against Chandler, I’m really excited to watch the fight\u2026
\nFor me, no [hard feelings].\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruffy had a falling out with Silva towards the end of last year.
\nSilva, who used to consider Ruffy one of his best friends and
\nmentors, officially confirmed that they are not friends any longer.
\nHowever, the rest of the team, including the coaches, have no hard
\nfeelings for Ruffy. Ruffy (13-2) has reportedly set up his own team
\nfor his upcoming fight against Chandler (23-10). Sucupira says the
\ndoors at Fighting Nerds will always be open for Ruffy, even if he
\nwants to do just a short camp. <\/p>\n
