\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14. Meanwhile, Hokit is scheduled to
\nfight Derrick
\nLewis<\/a> in a heavyweight matchup on the same card. <\/p>\n

During a promotional presser for UFC Freedom 250 at Newark last
\nmonth, Hokit went on an unprovoked rant against Pereira. Meanwhile,
\nIlia
\nTopuria<\/a> looks to defend his lightweight title on the same card
\nagainst interim champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> on the same card. Topuria was sitting next to Pereira
\nat the presser when Hokit launched his tirade. With a fast-growing
\nfriendship between the Topuria and Pereira, \u201cEl Matador\u201d stood up
\nto defend his friend against Hokit\u2019s insults. While Pereira isn\u2019t
\nfluent in English, Topuria was enraged when Hokit said he would
\n\u201cChama on Pereira\u2019s Mama.\u201d Topuria told Hokit that Pereira doesn\u2019t
\nneed to answer him before throwing a bottle of water at the
\nheavyweight fighter. Security personnel stepped in before things
\ncould escalate and escorted Hokit out of the media scrum. <\/p>\n

Pereira (13-3) is grateful to Topuria for having his back. As for
\nHokit, \u201cPoatan\u201d doesn\u2019t want to give him undue attention. The
\nformer two-division champion, aiming for a third title, believes
\nHokit is a \u201cproblematic\u201d character who doesn\u2019t get along well with
\nhis own family and friends. Pereira plans to maintain his composure
\nin the face of Hokit\u2019s antics during the UFC Freedom 250 fight
\nweek. However, if Hokit is able to get physically close to pull off
\nsome stunt, Pereira will blame the
\nUFC<\/a> for the lapse.<\/p>\n

Planning to Keep His Cool<\/h2>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand English, and I think Topuria felt bad,\u201d Pereira
\ntold MMAjunkie.com<\/a>. \u201cTopuria saw that and he stepped
\nup as a brother. Ilia threw the bottle or bottle cap at Hokit\u2019s
\nface when he saw that he was going too far. To me, Hokit, I don\u2019t
\neven want to talk about that guy. He\u2019s the kind of guy who doesn\u2019t
\nget along with his family. He doesn\u2019t get along with his brother.
\nHe\u2019s the problematic part of the family\u2026 Fight week we\u2019re probably
\ngonna have a lot of people around. If anything happens, I\u2019m gonna
\nstay calm and composed as always. If at fight week this guy is able
\nto get to me to try to do anything it\u2019s just messed up by the
\norganization.\u201d
