\nStrickland<\/a> because of his nationality. <\/p>\n

Chimaev (15-1)was a massive favorite when he put his middleweight
\ntitle on the line against Strickland (30-7) at UFC 328<\/a>
\nearlier this month in Newark, New Jersey. However, Chimaev
\nseemingly gassed out early and dropped a closely-contested split
\ndecision despite a valiant effort. <\/p>\n

While Chimaev admits it was a close fight, he believes the
\nscorecards swayed against him as he is not American.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll judges are Americans, the organization is American, the
\nopponent is American, and one is Chechen. It’s a close fight. Who
\ndo you think will win?\u201d Chimaev wrote in a since-deleted tweet.<\/p>\n

Awaiting the Rematch<\/h2>\n

Chimaev\u2019s team confirmed that he did not have a smooth weight cut
\nfor UFC 328. After Chimaev\u2019s loss, Dana White claimed that \u201cBorz\u201d
\nwanted to move up to light heavyweight for his next fight. However,
\nChimaev has since been solely focused on a rematch against
\nStrickland. Chimaev recently doubled down on his stance, calling
\nfor a rematch against the middleweight champ.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m waiting tell me when you\u2019re ready [Sean
