Diaz wasn\u2019t especially competitive, as he was<br \/>\nbloodied and battered by Perry for as long as the contest lasted.<br \/>\nIt was his first fight in MMA since a fourth-round submission win<br \/>\nover <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Tony-Ferguson-31239\">Tony<br \/>\nFerguson<\/a> at UFC 279 on Sept. 10, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Diaz <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/news\/news\/Nate-Diaz-shuts-down-retirement-talk-The-show-goes-on-201240\"><br \/>\nshut down retirement talk<\/a> at the event\u2019s post-fight press<br \/>\nconference, and the popular veteran maintained that sentiment while<br \/>\nexpressing renewed enthusiasm for a Perry rematch in a recent<br \/>\nstatement released via social media.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Hunting Season\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t like my lack of activity because of lack of opponents,\u201d<br \/>\nDiaz wrote on Instagram. \u201cI know it was easier to get up to fight<br \/>\nme for this fight but now I believe it will be easier to fight<br \/>\nhim.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut all good shoutout to Mike on the win and getting me off my<br \/>\nass. Time to kill now. I got something to do. Now I\u2019ve got a<br \/>\ntarget. Hunting season. Take that motherf\u2014-er out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear when MVP might hold its next MMA event. The<br \/>\npromotion\u2019s debut on Netflix was a <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/news\/news\/Ratings-figures-released-for-MVP-Rousey-vs-Carano-on-Netflix-201257\"><br \/>\nsuccess in terms of ratings<\/a>, both in the United States and<br \/>\nglobally. A release from the company following the event expressed<br \/>\noptimism about the future of MVP MMA going forward.
