Pay it forward,\u201d he added<br \/>\nin the caption.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland has faced backlash in the past over his controversial<br \/>\nstance on gun control. Himself an owner of a large collection of<br \/>\nguns, Strickland also encourages others to exercise their rights.<br \/>\nStrickland had also slammed the Australian government over gun laws<br \/>\nahead of his rematch against <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Dricus-Du-Plessis-146193\">Dricus Du<br \/>\nPlessis<\/a> in Sydney last year. Australia had banned guns<br \/>\nfollowing Martin Bryant\u2019s Port Arthur massacre in 1996.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Strickland (30-7) dethroned <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Khamzat-Chimaev-280021\">Khamzat<br \/>\nChimaev<\/a> to win the middleweight title in a huge upset at<br \/>\n<a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/events\/UFC-328-May-9-111957\">UFC<br \/>\n328<\/a> earlier this month.
