\nthe best shot at dethroning Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The
\nUFC<\/a> welterweight division is currently teeming with contenders.
\nWhile Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> and Michael
\nMorales<\/a> are in the race, Garry is widely considered the
\nfrontrunner for the next title shot against Makhachev. <\/p>\n

Thompson believes Garry poses the biggest threat to Makhachev out
\nof all the contenders. According to Thompson, Garry won\u2019t hesitate
\nto use his wrestling against an elite grappler like Makhachev.
\n\u201cWonderboy\u201d believes Garry\u2019s well-rounded skills and lanky frame
\ncan give Makhachev serious trouble if they fight.<\/p>\n

Not Afraid to Wrestle<\/h2>\n

\u201cI think Ian Garry would give him a hard time,\u201d Thompson told
\nFull Mount Media<\/a>. \u201cIan Garry is not afraid to
\nuse his wrestling. You actually see more of his wrestling than
\n[Morales and Prates\u2019]. He\u2019s very crafty; he puts his hands and feet
\ntogether very well. But he\u2019s not afraid to go out there and
\nwrestle. I do believe that he is long enough, he is lanky enough to
\nbe able to give [Makhachev] a very hard time, very hard time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garry (17-1) has scored 10 UFC victories while suffering his lone
\nprofessional loss against fellow contender Shavkat
\nRakhmonov<\/a>, who is now out of the title picture due to an
\ninjury. \u201cThe Future\u201d is coming off wins over Prates and former
\nchampion Belal
\nMuhammad<\/a>. While Prates recently finished former champ, Jack
\nDella Maddalena<\/a>, \u201cThe Nightmare\u201d believes Garry will challenge
\nMakhachev for the title before him. <\/p>\n
