One major voice inside of the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> is not a fan of the upcoming
\nspectacle.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his podcast of the \u201cJRE MMA Show\u201d<\/a> on
\nWednesday with guests \u201cBig\u201d John McCarthy and Josh
\nThomson<\/a>, color commentator Joe Rogan aired his thoughts about
\nthe
\nUFC White House<\/a> card coming up on June 14. The event is to be
\nheld on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., in
\nan outdoor venue that will be subject to weather and more.<\/p>\n

Rogan has spoken up about the event in other contexts, namely that
\nit will be going on during the U.S. war against Iran at the time.
\nHis observations and grievances this time around were largely
\nfocused on logistics and giving the fighters the best possible
\nsituation to perform for what will be the biggest fight of most of
\ntheir lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018White House\u2019 thing is odd,\u201d Rogan offered. \u201cI don\u2019t like it.
\nI don\u2019t like the idea of fighting outside, at all. And then there\u2019s
\nJune, and it\u2019s D.C., and we looked it up: last year, same day, it
\nwas 100 degrees [Fahrenheit.] That\u2019s hot as f–k. You add the
\nlights\u2026bugs\u2026how about dehydration? The bugs are a big one. How are
\nthey f—ing going to do anything about the bugs? [UFC President]\nDana [White] was talking about maybe using fans\u2026is that enough? You
\ngonna get bug strips everywhere? What are you gonna do? How are you
\ngonna stop the bugs, there\u2019s a lot of bugs. Pesticide the s–t out
\nof the f—ing White [House]?\u201d<\/p>\n

Just like everyone else<\/h2>\n

The longtime commentator believed that the stage should be equal
\nfor the competitors, and he felt that weather conditions would
\nchange that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t think you should compete in a world championship
\nfight in a non-controlled environment,\u201d he expressed. \u201cI think it
\nshould be inside of an air-conditioned arena. It should be a
\ncontrolled environment, just like [everyone else]\u2026you wouldn\u2019t ask
\nthem to play a world championship basketball game outside in the
\nsun. That\u2019d be crazy, right? You play in a f—ing air-conditioned
\narena, and that\u2019s how it should be.\u201d<\/p>\n

He did have a solution, one that might not be feasible for this
\ndesign plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuild a f—ing roof. Build a roof. You\u2019ve got all the money in
\nthe world, right? You\u2019re doing this for f—ing America?
\nFour-thousand seats? You can build a 4,000-seat arena. How big is
\nthat\u2026get a f—ing \u2018barndominium.\u2019 Put it in there. We did UFC
\n[Fight for the Troops] in [airplane] hangars.\u201d<\/p>\n

The overall interest in putting the fights at this location is to
\nhave the historic imagery of cage fights while the White House
\nlooms directly behind it like a modern interpretation of Roman
\ngladiators. Rogan think they could achieve that without putting any
\nathletes at risk.<\/p>\n

\u201cPut [the White House] in the background on TV, who gives a f–k?
\nWhen world-class fighters are competing, I don\u2019t think they should
\nhave to compete outside. Imagine if someone loses a fight because
\nit\u2019s too hot out. Imagine if that becomes a factor. Imagine the
\ndehydrated fighters, like the dehydrated fighters that are now
\nbeing forced 24 hours later to fight in 100-degree heat,\u201d he
\nconcluded on the subject, beyond a reference to UFC 112 in Abu
\nDhabi, United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
