Eddie Hearn says Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> is one of the most underpaid athletes in professional
\nsports. <\/p>\n

Hearn is the former manager of boxer Conor Benn, who was recently
\npoached by Zuffa Boxing, which the
\nUFC<\/a>\u2019s parent company owns. Benn signed a $15 million contract,
\nsparking dissent among UFC fighters. When Hearn criticized the
\nsigning, Dana White said that the Matchroom Boxing chairman should
\ninstead be happy for Benn earning as much as he can. <\/p>\n

Hearn now looks to give White a taste of his own medicine. Hearn
\nrecently started managing UFC heavyweight champion. Hearn called
\nfor Aspinall’s release from the UFC, although it didn\u2019t seem very
\nsincere. Hearn guarantees he can arrange for Aspinall to be paid
\nthree times what he is earning in the UFC. Hearn notes that
\naccording to White\u2019s own ideology, he should be happy for Aspinall
\nto be earning as much as possible. Doubling down on his criticism
\nof Aspinall\u2019s contract, Hearn says \u201cHoney Badger\u201d is one of the
\nmost underpaid athletes across all sports.<\/p>\n

\u2018Grossly Underpaid\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cI would like Dana White to release Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> from his UFC contract,\u201d Hearn told iFL TV. \u201cI will
\nguarantee Dana that I will pay Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> probably five times more, but a minimum of three times
\nmore what Dana White is paying him\u2026 Dana White should be happy for
\nTom
\nAspinall<\/a> to receive that deal. Dana White should be happy for
\nAspinall, who is extremely unhappy, and release him from his
\nobligations with the UFC and allow him to go out and make
\nconsiderably more for himself and his family\u2026 Unfortunately for
\nhim, he has signed a contract which is one of the worst, most
\ngrossly underpaid athletes I have ever seen in the commercial world
\nof sports… It\u2019s absolutely disgusting what they\u2019re paying him.
\nThings need to change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aspinall\u2019s (15-3) first title defense against Ciryl Gane<\/a>
\nended in a no contest last October after Gane poked him in both
\neyes in the first round. However, White seemed disappointed with
\nAspinall for choosing not to continue with compromised vision.
\nAspinall has since had a minor falling out with the UFC, following
\nwhich he signed with the management of Hearn. <\/p>\n
