While Curtis
\nBlaydes<\/a> wants to end his MMA career in the
\nUFC<\/a>, he fancies a boxing match after that. <\/p>\n

Blaydes recently revealed that he wants to hang up his MMA gloves
\nwhile he is in the UFC. Blaydes draws inspiration from veterans
\nlike Drew
\nDober<\/a> and Neil Magny<\/a>,
\nwho have both been in the UFC for over a decade and have gradually
\nassumed the roles of gatekeepers in their divisions. While Blaydes
\nwants to leave behind a legacy like theirs in the UFC, he wouldn\u2019t
\nmind a big boxing match at the end of his combat sports career.
\nBlaydes wants to box former UFC foe Francis
\nNgannou<\/a>, who did well for himself financially in boxing after
\nretiring from the UFC. <\/p>\n

\u201cI look at guys for inspiration like Drew Dober<\/a>,
\nNeil
\nMagny<\/a>. I want to be like them,\u201d Blaydes told Home of Fight. \u201cI
\nwant to be in the UFC as long as I can, and I want to end with the
\nUFC. I want to have a legacy like theirs. I could see myself at the
\nend maybe taking a random boxing match against Francis
\nNgannou<\/a>, if he is active still. Something like that just on the
\nway out. But in terms of MMA, I do believe that I will only be with
\nthe UFC and when I do end, it will be with the UFC. And I will be
\nhappy with that.\u201d  <\/p>\n

Blaydes (19-6) made his UFC debut against Ngannou in 2016, where
\nhis bloodied eye led to a doctor’s stoppage at the end of the
\nsecond round. Blaydes then went on a six-fight unbeaten streak
\nbefore facing Ngannou in a rematch in 2018. \u201cThe Predator\u201d knocked
\nBlaydes out cold in 45 seconds in their rematch. Blaydes is coming
\noff a unanimous decision loss against Josh Hokit<\/a>
\nin a \u201cFight of the Night\u201d slugfest at UFC 327<\/a>
\nthis past April.  <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ngannou left the UFC in 2023 over a contract dispute.
\nNgannou then lost a controversial split decision in a boxing match
\nagainst Tyson Fury<\/a>
\nbefore being knocked out by Anthony
\nJoshua<\/a>. Ngannou has competed only twice in MMA since, most
\nrecently knocking out Philipe
\nLins<\/a> on a
\nMost Valuable Promotions<\/a> card last month.  <\/p>\n
