\nPavlovich<\/a> is back to being a feared knockout artist. <\/p>\n

Pavlovich took on Tallison
\nTeixeira<\/a> in a heavyweight matchup at
\nUFC Macau<\/a> on Saturday. Pavlovich took 39 seconds to shut the
\nlights on Teixeira with a vicious combination. This was Pavlovich\u2019s
\nfirst stoppage win since 2023. The Russian knockout artist admits
\nthat he was trying to put on a technical display in his last few
\noutings, which didn\u2019t work out very well. <\/p>\n

\u201cReally great feeling,\u201d Pavlovich said in a post-fight interview
\nwith the UFC. \u201cCouple of fights back it was all about being
\ntechnical, about trying to show some skills, but we weren\u2019t able to
\ndo that. Now finally everything worked out and I\u2019m really happy
\nabout it.\u201d <\/p>\n

Tall Task<\/h2>\n

Pavlovich and his team studied a lot of tape on Teixeira, who
\nstands four inches taller than him.   \u201cThis is the second opponent I had that\u2019s almost 2 meters in
\nheight, over 6 [feet] something,\u201d Pavlovich said. \u201cWe looked at all
\nof his fights, we did a lot of work, we really prepared, we
\ndissected him and everything worked out.\u201d<\/p>\n

After suffering his first professional loss against Alistair
\nOvereem<\/a> in his UFC debut in 2018, Pavlovich (21-3) went on a
\nsix-fight first-round knockout streak. Pavlovich then found himself
\nin a short-notice interim heavyweight title fight against Tom
\nAspinall<\/a>, who knocked him out.<\/p>\n

The Russian contender then changed his approach, introducing more
\ncaution and technique. This led to a lackluster decision loss
\nagainst Alexander
\nVolkov<\/a>, followed by lukewarm wins over Jairzinho
\nRozenstruik<\/a> and Waldo
\nCortes-Acosta<\/a>. However, Pavlovich looked like his old self for
\nthe first time in years while beating down Teixeira at UFC
\nMacau. <\/p>\n
