The stakes could be quite high when Arman
\nTsarukyan<\/a> is ready to return to the Octagon.<\/p>\n

The
\nUFC<\/a> lightweight contender offered some insight into his next
\nMMA fight during a recent video blog posted on his YouTube
\nchannel.<\/p>\n

“My next fight is the title fight, which is probably in September
\nin L.A.,” Tsarukyan said. “But I’m a backup for the White House,
\ntoo, if someone pulls out or gets hurt. … I may fight him
\n[Charles
\nOliveira<\/a>] again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plenty to Be Determined<\/h2>\n

There are a lot of moving parts involved with Tsarukyan\u2019s
\nstatement. The UFC has yet to announce its schedule for September,
\nbut if Tsarukyan is correct, the promotion will hold a major event
\nin California around that time. Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> is currently slated to defend the lightweight belt
\nagainst Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> in the main event of
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14. There has been speculation that if
\nTopuria wins that fight, he will move to the welterweight division.
\nIf that is the case, Tsarukyan seems to be indicating that a
\nrematch with Oliveira could be for the vacant 155-pound belt. He
\ndefeated \u201cdo Bronxs\u201d via split decision in a No. 1 contender\u2019s bout
\nat UFC 300.<\/p>\n

Tsarukyan hasn\u2019t competed in MMA since last November, when he
\nsubmitted Dan Hooker<\/a> in
\nthe
\nUFC Qatar<\/a> main event. The
\nAmerican Top Team<\/a> standout wasn\u2019t supposed to challenge
\nIslam
\nMakhachev<\/a> for lightweight gold at UFC 311, but he fell out of
\nthe promotion\u2019s good graces after pulling out of the fight just
\nshortly before the event. Tsarukyan has remained active even when
\nnot fighting for the UFC, as he has gone 5-0 under the Real
\nAmerican Freestyle banner in 2026 alone.<\/p>\n

In addition to serving as the backup fighter for the UFC White
\nHouse main event, Tsarukyan has RAF matches scheduled against
\nTony
\nFerguson<\/a> on June 13 and against Colby
\nCovington<\/a> on July 18.<\/p>\n
