\nDella Maddalena<\/a> last year was an emotional moment for him.
\nHowever, that is not the fight that Makhachev rewatches most
\nfrequently. Makhachev revealed that his lightweight title defense
\nagainst Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> (30-10) at UFC 302<\/a>
\nin 2024 was the most enjoyable performance of his career. What adds
\nto the pleasure is that Makhachev was able to finish Poirier
\ndespite throwing caution to the wind.<\/p>\n

Poirier made his third and final UFC lightweight title bid against
\nMakhachev at UFC 302. \u201cThe Diamond\u201d gave Makhachev one of the
\ntoughest tests of his career, showing exemplary takedown defense.
\nMakhachev managed to hold his own against Poirier on the feet and
\nfinished him with a brabo choke in the final round.<\/p>\n
